OT: Halloween Costume Pictures

Hi everyone,

Here are the photos of my costume! I had so much fun at the party and putting this costume together. Wearing it was a lot of fun, too. Enjoy!

The lunchbox was mine from elementary school. It was used as a purse for my costume. The coat was from my Cruella De Vil costume (it was cold outside that night).

Me with Jeannie Allen, a dear friend of ours at the theatre (she LOVED my costume).

And then a step to the right.... Great costume, Brad. We're not dressing up this year, haven't for a while now but somewhere someone in this extended family has a couple of large boxes of costumes from past Halloweens. I know there is Raggedy Anne/Andy, a nurse and a baseball player, pair of leopards (those are oh! so cute, head to toe onsie pattern), individual crayon costumes that make up a box of colors, a bride and groom where the groom is womens sized, bride a large man....you brought up some great memories just now! We'll have approx 150 children at the door, always fun, especially the littlest..... It's one of DH's favorite holidays.

Oh Man, Halloween is my absolute favorite. DH scared more adults than he did kids! LOL He put on a Ghillie suit and sat around in the yard. One young one squealed, jumped up did a 180 and ran to his parent. Both DH and the parent laughed over that one. Haha! I so love Halloween! The only time of the year we can legally scare the crap out of everyone! =D DD's boyfriend put on the ghillie suit, sat out beside the spirea at the end of the driveway, a couple of female parents with a group of youngsters wandered up to get candy from me. I handed out candy, walked part way out the door to watch the group walk down the drive. Dustin leaned out from the spirea and boo'ed them. Haha! Poor little boy lept about 4 ft to the side, screaming grabbed his momma's leg. His mom laughed so much! Oh Lordy I had so much fun! =D I R Evil! Next year, DH and DD's boyfriend will be deployed to out of country locations, so my middle son will wear the ghillie suit. I'll have more decorations in my yard. This year, we didn't have corn stalks or pumpkins out like normal. I didn't get to grow any this year, corn did poorly. I'll get photos next Halloween! Thanks everyone for all the fun ideas. For a while there I was considering having DH be a king and I'd be a court jester. But, the party is on a Fri. night, which makes prep a little more tricky, decided to keep things simple also since we're hosts... so we are going to be the Skipper (DH) and Gilligan (me) from Gilligan's Island.

Wow, Brad, you dressed just like a friend my oldest daughter had in school, she even had that color hair!

booberry, LOL my one gram always said that I always had feminine looking legs, so I lucked out with loving having to dress up in drag for Halloween lol.

Annie, glad I brought back some memories for you. Cyndi Lauper is one of my all time favorite singers/entertainers. When I walked in to the theatre, I was greeted by most of the partygoers with smiles, laughs and lots of "wows".

I did forget to wear the earrings and one other necklace for the big night, but I'm still happy with the way it turned out :). I made the necklaces out of "pop beads".

Great costume! I was looking forward to seeing it. I had forgotten about pop beads! I'm glad you had fun at the party. I love Halloween. Seemed like it was over too fast this year.

I certainly had a lot of fun with this costume, and Halloween just seemed to go by too fast this year. I already have several ideas (perhaps too many lol, but that's what one gets for having an active imagination) for next year.

I was asking several people on what they liked most about my costume and they said the wig.

Thanks for posting the pictures, Brad. I love your costume. You really brought it all together. I liked Cyndi Lauper from the first time I ever saw her perform. Would you believe, I have some pop beads that were in my late aunt's stuff. I just don't have the heart to toss them. By the way, you have a beautiful smile.

I never thought I had much of a nice smile, but my one idol, Dottie West (yet another singer that may ring bells for some of you) had one of the most gorgeous smiles ever, so I try to show my teeth when I smile for a picture :).

Hold on to those pop beads! They may be worth something someday!
