OMG this is bittersweet. It occurred to me to google the address, and google brought up a map with a street view for there. It is not at all the same. Some would think it is nicer. The front door used to face the Court which is now named Kandace Court. There was a teenage girl named Kandi across the street, can't remember their last name shouldn't post it if I did. I wonder if her parents perhaps bought more property and had the Court renamed? Her mother grew beautiful roses. At least there's a house still there, but I can't tell if they added the front on or what looks like a 1/2 story dormer on top at the back (nothing like that then). I don't remember the roof being pitched that steeply or any crawl space beneath the roof, no basement, they don't have them in CA. They could have used the basic frame which is about the same. It was white painted clapboard wood siding. The front left window looks like it might be the same. There was a carport to the back. And our friends lived next door to the left, that house is pretty much the same except for new steps and rails. I do remember all their names mom, dad, 4 girls. They could have razed it and put up a mfr'ed home or a prefab. Such memories! I'm moved to tears for some reason. I have photos of it then but they're slides and not scanned, several of my oldest daughter when she was little on that very sidewalk. I'm going to send this to my kids. I'm just flooded with emotions seeing this. That was my second child's first home, my daughter Rachel, and we left for Iowa when she was 2 months old in January 1966. Oh my. So I guess there will be no need for you to photograph it. I'll see if they have more street views of the neighborhood. The lawn looks neglected, and it's hard to imagine the people who might live there now. At least something is still there, but from the house, I would not have recognized it.

Lots of great info Manuel! I'm in the Tampa area now. All of my large trees are in the Keys, but I brought my small ones up here. Many didn't fare too well this winter. I guess they didn't like being uprooted from in the ground in October. However, the rest are doing very well so far in the Gritty. The summer rains do have me a bit concerned but that is an issue whether they are in Gritty Mix or soil. The only time that doesn't concern me is when they are in the ground in fast draining soil. I wish I had used screen in the bottom too. That mix pours out those holes of some of my pots but it's slowing down now. It does drain super fast BUT, don't let it fool you. The mix that is amongst the stem and root area stays wetter than you think. I know this because a couple of mine came out of the mix and it was dry on the sides, wet about 2-3" from the bottom and wet right in the center where the trunk and roots were. Once the roots spread out more, this is probably not the case but right after re-potting and or root pruning, it stays fairly damp. My Mr. Ambassador was doing well when I re-potted it a couple of months ago, then it rotted. This one had been in the same pot since summer of 2011 and had lots of roots. Perhaps it is just fussy about having it's roots messed with, who knows, but that one and Heart of Gold did rot after put in the Gritty Mix. Mr. Ambassador had not come out of dormancy yet and only showed tiny claws. I feel I should have waited to re-pot it when it was more active. Perhaps that played a part in it. Same thing with Heart of Gold so maybe something was going on with them or maybe they are both late to wake up but the other ones that were slow to wake up are in Gritty and are now waking up and doing well...so far! Indeed this was a mild winter, and I hope this winter is the same. I'm still going to bring all of them into the garage, on pallets with a heater and humidifier this year. On days when it's about 65-70 I open the garage door and let them get fresh air. Not looking forward to moving them all in the winter. I'm not used to this. In the Keys it is never an issue. 50 is a really cold night down there and it never phases them.

There is no need nor desire to seal glass tile of any sort. Do use a NON sanded grout if using a cement based grout. Better yet, use Fusion Pro or Flexcolor CQ. While both are sanded, they are painted sand and not the scratchy angular sand found in cement based grouts. Do not use Spectralock with frosted glass as you can't wipe the residue away on frosted glass.

I had seen that before and loved many of those tips. UNFORTUNATELY, since I downloaded the new iOS 7 yesterday, it's all different. And I'm not happy about it at all. Maybe I'm too old for change. Silly me...I even took some stuff off my iPhone 4 to make room for the new operating system. I should have follwed my instincts and waited.
