You talked about your antipasto platter in the Good, bad and ugly thread. Would you tell me what all you had on it? I am making one for Christmas Eve and am searching for inspiration.
Hi Lisa (and my name is Lisa also, but I'm in the US in Virginia).
Here is what I put on my very large Antipasto Platter and everyone ate every single drop.
Boiled Jumbo Gulf Shrimp (I cooked them myself in a little bit of beer, Old Bay Seasoning, Cider Vinegar and fresh squeezed lemon juice). Served with some cocktail sauce that was heavy on the horseradish.
Peppered Ham (sliced thin and rolled), Salami, and Prosciutto
Artichoke Hearts, chopped
Various pickles and olives
Three kinds of cheeses and various crackers
Bruschetta (crusty bread sliced baquette style, bruschetta, and fresh parmesan cheese sprinkled over top and baked under the broiler) and put on the platter. Everyone loved these.
Hummus with Roasted Pine Nuts and garlic with Pita Chips
Thanks. Man, I wish I could have fresh gulf shrimp again. I miss seafood. It is just way too expensive here. I was thinking about making Hummus for the first time and now I am certain I will. I think it will just go good with everything else. I am also going to make marinated eggplant and zucchini. The meat is taken care of in that I won a 6,5 kilo serrano ham. On another platter, I am going to roll some of the schinken around various things like roasted asparagus, melon, and I think grissini. What kinds of cheese did you put out? Lisa (who loves meeting people with the same name)
