bummed DS.....big baby WHINE

not getting to play .

Coach pitched him too much last year and ruined

DS's arm for this year. He's pitched only 1 inning and

put in as DH for only once, and pinch hit only once.

the guy DHing right now is hitting over 6oo or 700... so

what are you going to do? This is his last year

and I was so hoping it would be a great one for

him in all ways, but baseball too. he is disappointed,

but still practicing hard, can't control what

anyone else is doing, only your own work.

last year DS was hitting 500 and the coach

put in another kid to dh. Turns out the kid is

from ohio and had family money... donating,.. you know

oh, well, I told him to just do what he does

and hopefully he will get to play in 3 or so games in

row to show the coach what he can do.

he is the hardest on himself, so when he says he is

killing it in practice, I know he's doing well.

coach thinks he's too heavy to play first

6'6" and 260 of muscle... ask Donna OH.. he is NOT

fat...he could stand to lose 10 maybe 15 pounds. and he is faster than the guy at first,

but that kid is 6'5 and 230. bummer. the kid at 1st isn't

hitting at all!

hard for DS to get a string of hits going when you get 3 at bats every 8 games.

gee, do I sound like a little league parent, or what?

LOL

Oh, well. You just feel bummed out

when your kid feels bummed out! LOL

Ahhh, Kat, it makes NO difference what their age group, or what's the not-so-great thing(s) going on in their lives, we as Mom's are going to hurt when they hurt. I hope something happens to turn things more his way.

I am so sorry to hear of your husband's job. Hopefully he won't lose it, but remember whatever happens..happens for a reason!!! Though I know it is extremely difficult to hear that right now. Like others here, this too happened to us only I was wanting to have another baby at the time not remodel a kitchen!! My DH lost his job and we lived in an upscale community and I wasn't working at the time...talk about stress. We eventually had to sell the house and move to another town, but it actually worked out better in the end. I now have a new baby (19 mo. old), and my older son has a better group of friends, we have a charming home, etc. Although, now there is an eleven year gap between the two boys, but c'est la vie! Now here we are in this charming home that needs a lot of work (but I love it) and getting ready to remodel and the economy/market goes to squat!!! My DH's current job is tied to this market so it maybe longer than planned but hopefully soon like others have said it will be better in the long run!!!! The hot tamale train!!???!! That rocks Mrsandrews!!!!! Thank you. Which granite did you end up with?? I know, I know. I need to calm myself down before I freak out again. I mean, soon the appliances are going in, then window treatments. I can't post another "oh no, this is too XXX" everytime I frickin put something new in my kitchen!!! Thanks neesie! I didn't realize I was being too sensitive. To me, from a technical perspective, it just doesn't match up. I've seen some kick a$$ seams on GW where they match perfectly, and we had two big slabs for them to choose from, so I was just expecting that they could do a better job. But maybe my expectations are too high. And no, my mother-in-law has told me before, for goodness sakes, don't point out the flaws!! Thanks Patricia!!

yes, i have had it, i too am one crispy critter. i do not want to hear the word "GC" again and i hope a big wind gust blows away my project folder that is now jammed with stuff... i am glad however to know that means i am doing it right. thankfully 6 months from construction start i now have running water and counters! painting needs to be finished and i am moving back into the kitchen this weekend sans backsplash and working finish electrical. i will work on that in the next few weeks. the prospect of not warming food in a microwave on a folding table and not eating off my lap in a dust covered livingroom is beyond exciting. as others have stated, it has taken about 2x as long and cost more than anticipated! the cats however might be bummed out. they have really perfected their technique of dashing across boxes, temp tables, microwave and other kitchen supplies, up the mantle, down the mantle, across the couch and chairs, up the stairs, down the stairs ... they like this obstacle course and might miss the stacks and stacks of stuff everywhere! i have learned a TON (first remodel). the original fantasy of completing a bathroom remodel next year (in a house with only 1 bathroom) has been put on hold due to need to replenish funds and recover sanity.

Ry Fat?? No way, he has one heck-uv-a body on him! WOW! Sorry mom! LOL

Just sending good thougts for DS and family. Maybe we will see him in the big leagues someday and then we can say we knew him when. I think several of the pro's came from Mayfield U in ND. Not sure how the program is now, but it use to be one of the best.

I'll listen to you Kat. Hope Ry gets a better deal pretty soon.

I felt whiny today when I found out my DD's 6th grade C league team was bumped up to B league for this weekends tournament. We brought our new recreation team to play and surprisingly won one of two games today. Most of those B teams are hard core players who have been playing with each other since 3rd grade. We were the wrong team to move up a bracket but no one would answer the calls when left messages to talk about it. We are down to 5 girls and one tiny little gal for a sub. One more game tomorrow.

Sports are fun to watch and totally frustrating to deal with at times. I'll send lots of mind vibes to R's coach, so he'll play him more...lol, wonder if it works???

GS, PJR, has been pitcher, for two years, don't know about this year, haven't seen him to hear. But I DO know, he gets a sore arm especially when he pitches a lot during a game.

We worry, and want them to be out there on the field, but thinking on down the road, we certainly don't want our boys to get permanent injury from sports.''

I do weight machines at my health club, and some of them I can hear a sound on my left shoulder, like a rubbing of the bones, whatever, and I stopped using two particular machines.

Ryan is a very sports oriented person.
