where to buy 1x2' ceramic/porcelin brick for backsplash?

I'm looking for a 1x2" cream/beige colored tile (ceramic or porcelin) for my backsplash. I've tried a lot of websites but not many have tiles that small size. I'd like something with a little bit of texture, not too smooth, and also with a little bit of color variation but still mostly beige or cream. Any ideas of where to find this?

(I have Santa Cecilia granite, off-white cabinets, sage green painted walls and medium to dark wood floors. To add some interest, I am planning on a bronze liner above the first few rows of the 1x2 inch tiles).

You might check out Ann Sacks tile. I used them in my kitchen renovation and they had a huge selection.

I've looked at that website quickly recently but found it not too easy to search for a certain size tile and color. I'll give it another look though - maybe I'm missing an easy way to search. Thanks for the recommendation.

omg -- I am so embarrassed. I can't believe it's been almost three years. I know it's ridiculous, veevs, but I still have not put in a backsplash! I collected so many sample tiles (all of which are still sitting on my laundry room counter), and then I just got overwhelmed! And then tired. And then bored. And then we moved on to other major house projects (front entry, portico, landscaping, etc.) and other decorating (window treatments, etc.). And then I just became very zen about the whole thing and decided not to stress about it, to enjoy the paint for now, and to just pick out other kitchen things first (eg, got the bamboo shades budge suggested). In fact, it's funny that you're reviving this thread now, as I await delivery of the chandelier that I finally chose for over the island. I'm hoping that getting that up next week will provide a sudden epiphany re the backsplash. I hope to return to that project this fall/winter. Of course, I'm still happy to hear suggestions and welcome any photos! Sorry the thread was such a tease...but there will be a happy ending one day! In the meantime ... enjoy your kitchen and the many delicious meals you will share with your family ... and tell them all just to be zen :)

RemodelFla, my kitchen designer suggests first checking with your contractor or designer if you're using one and see if they can get a sample for you to have or borrow. If that doesn't work, go to the Jeffrey Court web site and locate the nearest Jeffrey Court dealer to you. localeater- I will order some samples of browns while I'm shopping. Mr.MM is going to be surprised when the next 400 lbs of tile samples start rolling in. EAM44- we definitely have more brick, but I'm not sure I want anymore. It's kind of a pain to clean. Maybe sealed wouldn't be horrible, but it's still got a lot of nooks and crannies for things to hide in. I scrub down the brick around the range a few times a year and it takes a few hours, and it doesn't get many splashes, just dusty. controlfreakecs- Maybe match isn't the proper word, but I certainly don't want to add anymore colors. I'm okay with picking out a color that's already there, even if it's in small amounts. chesters_house- I kind of like the idea of a pattern, but would it be too busy? crl- It seems that paint is going to be the easiest, and maybe best choice. ineffablespace- you're talking to someone who would wear black pants and a black sweater and think it looked okay because they are both black. This whole post is making me realize that my wardrobe probably needs a lot of work as well. saipanlady- I'm hesitant to do something just behind the range and sink. The sink would probably be okay, but would a square of something look weird with the arch above?

Crossville makes a 1" x 2" running bond backsplash tile in their savoy series but the color choices are limited. I think the empire series has the same size as well and has a lot more texture, but maybe more than you're looking for.

Daltile has 1x2 in their porcelain colorbody series.

I hadn't known about DalTile's line, so thanks for that info, and now it's one of my finalists along with a 1x3 tile from American Olean. The Crossville tile is beautiful (and an easy website to browse through too) but when I priced it it was too expensive. The Ann Sacks 1x2 tile was very nice too although not as many colors as DalTile and American Olean, at least not in the cream shades.

I have something like this in my kitchen (finished over a year ago and still find myself lurking on this site - aagh!). Anyhow, if I can remember how to post a pic, I will include it here. And it was a Daltile brand. I think called City tile? Or something like that. I can look it up if you are interested.
