Comments (5)Sand the rough stuff so it's flush/flat with the rest (any small voids that remain are ok). Then prime as mentioned. If you happen to be using glass tiles, you can find a glass nipper (it has opposing cutting wheels) at a craft store. For some reason most tile supplies still don't carry that type of nipper. One final bit of advice: consider your starting point carefully to limit the edge cuts elsewhere, like around outlets, edges of cabinets, etc....See MoreTight two-way toilet run-off: Toto vs DXV
Comments (37)Adding to this thread for anyone considering a DXV... I spent a lot of time considering plumbing fixtures for my home addition. I love the look and feel of the DXV Fitzgerald, and got the console for my powder room and undermount sink for my master, along with the matching toilets. The functionality seems great (nice flush and solid feel) however, on both toilets, the white porcelain is different colors -- the tanks are a grayish white compared to the rest. I'm still trying to work this out with Ferguson and the manufacturer... something to be aware of. When shopping for my fixtures, the Ferguson rep made the point that if you want your whites to match, go with all the same manufacturer (rather than mixing, say a Kohler toilet with a DXV sink). I did that and yet the whites are still not matching. I've had guests comment on my "two-toned toilet" -- not the look I was going for....See MoreWall Texture Comes Off When Wiped With Water - WHAT?!?!
Comments (8)@cat_ky Thanks very much for your response and the advice of a sealing primer. Yes, the PPG paint is cheap and marks easily throughout the home. We are by no means hard on our home and our previous home we were in for 11 years with BEHR paint never had the marked walls this house already has. We will repaint with BEHR in a satin sheen in the near future....See Moremommabird
