I always repot any plant I get. It serves two purposes... First, it gives me a chance to look at the roots. Sometimes, they're rootbound like the one's you got, and sometimes they're greatly overpotted. In either case, it gives me the opportunity to decide if it needs a bigger/smaller pot and to look to see if the roots are healthy. Second, I want my plants in my own mix because I'm accustomed to how my mix dries out. I don't grow the other two, but Haworthias do fine on a windowsill, east is ideal. They don't need a lot of light to be happy. Anytime you water plants, you should water until it comes out the drainage holes and dump the excess water. Light watering (or misting) can be hard on the roots as only the top part of the roots get watered. If you want to avoid getting water on the plant, use one of those ear irrigation bulbs you can buy at a drugstore. I use one of those to water plants that are so tightly packed in the pot that it's hard to pour water without getting it everywhere. Good luck with your new babies! Denise in Omaha

Leptospermum scoparium & Leptospermum laevigatum are used for landscaping in my area. They can be difficult to grow in pots & are not fond of being transplanted. Even seedlings are difficult to transplant. They also do not like coffee grounds at all. Since these plants are not easy to grow in pots, my suggestion would be to get an ID on your variety & go on over to the bonsai forum. Below is a link for some varieties suitable for bonsai. Quite honestly I do absolutely nothing to take care of mine. It is in full sun light. I don't even fertilize it and it is big and healthy. The only thing to be careful of are the seeds which like all parts of this plant are highly toxic. This plant can kill a dog withing a couple of weeks after ingestion of seeds or leaves. The poison causes liver failure and eventual death. If you have young children or curious pets, be careful of where you plant this plant. Also, understand that the seeds will not only be under the plant, they will be spread all over your yard by rodents and birds that are attracted to them because of their color.
