American Idol - The Guys

I wasn't really bowled over by anyone last night but I still like the 2 Davids. Heard on the radio this morning that David Hernandez was an exotic dancer in his past, even doing lap dances. So far the producers aren't "punishing" him by removal or anything, as far as the dj on the radio knew.

I think all "3" of the Davids will be in the top 6 of the guys. David Cook hasn't been my favorite, but I really liked his song last night.

I had read that about David Hernandaz...if they decide to not let him compete I'll bet they'll say so Thursday night and let him go then along with whichever guy got the lowest votes. I don't see that happening though...since I imagine there are a lot of skeletons in the closets of the other contestants as well. Who's going to decide what makes one unworthy of being the next American Idol?

David Cook and David Hernandez. I think David Cook just might win. But, I'd like for Hernandez to give me a lap dance before he gets voted out. LOL!

We've not enjoyed the show on tv so much in ages, made me think once again how great it'd be to have more entertaining and little less competition, to bring best of Idols and have some extra fun for everyone. No matter, all are winners, except me and especially my daughter, will be listening to Katherine and my younger daughter to Chris (her forever Idol). I think Taylor got the votes for being a friendly country guy -if the show was about congeniality he'd get my votes, he had fun and made us join in the fun, appearing more self-confident- a few years older helps, even if he was at times comical with his dances-we can all use more fun. It reminded us of the times when the "She Bangs" guy was picked as the winner on line, lol. We're fine with the fact Katherine took the 2nd place- it's almost or as grand as the top. You vote at least once for all the ones you like, but you vote twice for your absolute favorite. :0) I think they brought up the Joe Cocker thing during the auditions. I was really surprised he made it that far, like Simon I don't think he has much commercial appeal and the spastic movements scare me just a little. But good for him and hope he does well.

Last night was horrible. I thought of the 12 that only 2 were good. The african american guy and the girl with (awful) reddish color hair. Don't want to offend anyone but her hair looks terrible...but she has a great voice. Not too many people can sing anything by Heart. I did think the welder was pretty good. SamKaren your resident DJ

Have to admit there are some really good ones this year. They each have their own style. Maybe the twist will be that there will be two winners. I vote for Adam and the 16 yr old, red hair girl. I can't remember her name either. I'm am sure most of them will come away with recording contracts but it is early. Only thing I don't like this year is that I am getting tired of Paula and her antics. I think she and Simon act so childish.

I saw bits and peices of it, have Dish network and the stupid thing kept freezing up. I just checked the recordings and it recorded 0 minutes, nice.

FYI - David Hernandez was a nude dancer at a "almost exclusive male" club. I'll pass on the lap dance!

I had it on in the background and the only one I turned to watch and really listen to was the black guy sorry I don't know his name I think he was last. I thought it was lovely and boo'd along with the crowd at the judge. most of the rest were just shouters IMHO

Wasn't yawning last night, I tell ya. I can't believe how impressed I was with all the guys, except Danny Noriega. He is another Sanjaya, but I guess we have to put up with him bcause of that Worst site.

They are not getting rid of David Hernandez according to reports I read and last night's local news. I think it is most unfair they allow him to stay and also allowed Antonella to stay after her photos, but they got rid of Frenchie a few years ago. Too bad people aren't standing up for her. Wouldn't help at all just me alone. Pooh on them.

I will add my vote for Jason too. I also like the Australian boy too. Can't think of him name offhand. All in all though, the guys have just not wowed me this year. I like the girls better this time around.

I know this opinion is not shared by many, but I'll say it: I like Danny Noriega. I do not think he is the most talented, but he can sing -- and he entertains me.

Who do you think is at risk this week? Luke, for sure, IMO.

I think all 3 Davids are safe. I'm not a big fan of Jason, but I think he is safe too. I really liked Michael Johns from the beginning, but I don't think he is as talented as I had hoped!

I guess I'm thinking that Chakeezie (sp) might be at risk too.

I'm just hoping it's not Danny, but I realize he is not well liked by the general population.

I agree that Luke will go this week...he sings good and is easy on the eyes...but there's nothing special or different about him. I think Chakeezie will go home too...although I'd rather see Danny go.

I'm rooting for Danny & Luke to leave, and Jason is not one of my favorites either. Just don't care for him - sorry.

Maura, he CAN sing and he is also entertaining. It's uncanny how he reminds me of Sanjaya. Both compliments apply to him, too. They are also alike in that they are both limited. Danny, as did Sanjaya, does safe songs that don't require much because he hasn't any more to give. His range is limited, so he's stuck in that one octave (almost but not literally, just seemingly and boring) throughout the whole song. Or rather, as high as he can go, which isn't very.

I think Danny can sing much better than Sanjaya could.

I'm not completely loving Jason Castro but his song last night was really good. He just seems really scared and totally out of his element. He needs to let go of some of that and he might be more appealing to me.

I think I mentioned this last season; however, I find it rather silly to pit 'boys against the girls' when they are looking for the most talented of the bunch. That means that lousy girls stay ahead of talented boys? They should change it to the top 24 that go into the final round.
