Who's Going to be 2009's American Idol?? Spoilers

After watching tonights show (the 1st for the top 13)... who do you think will become the next Idol? I know it's still early, but let's just see if anybody gets it right.

My guess is Danny Gokey.

The judges seemed to really like Adam, but I don't like his high-pitched singing. I do like Kris and Matt too... but Danny has to be my pick... I really like his voice and the way he changes up the songs. I agree with Simon that Kris should have kept his wife a secret for a few more weeks. The young girls always seem to vote for one of the single good-looking guys.. so I think Kris may have hurt himself a little.

Its too early for me to make predictions, but I actually like Adam. And I like the 16 year old with dyed red hair (Allison??).

I liked Jesse Langseth better than Kris, but he sure is a cutie. Wonder who they will bring back. I also wonder if this new format is in any way an attempt to defeat the "Vote for the worst" clubs that keep people like Sanjaya in the competition for so long. They have their sights set on a guy comming up next week.

I don't know Colton Berry personally, but he is very well known in the area. He lives about 15 miles from where I live. Excerpt from our newspaper: Colton is well-known to area theater fans. The 17-year-old has long been a fixture in the area fine arts community. Berry has directed and starred in musicals since he was 16, including "Beauty and the Beast," "Jeckyl and Hyde," "Chicago" and a completely sold-out production of "Aida." The High School senior also performed with the 2006 production of "Big River" and the 2007 musical "A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum." Always remember, the show does what they want--the votes mean nothing more than a general opinion poll (there's a disclaimer to that fact at the end of the show, as a matter of fact). I've watched the show since the beginning, and it's obvious that often they stick someone popular, who the producers like in the bottom three, just to create a 'buzz'. It is Fox, after all--just take it for what it is--pure entertainment, NOT a show where YOU are actually picking the winner. Note, I'm not saying the votes are totally unimportant--the producers use them to find out who the public likes, but they learned early on about picking a winner who is difficult to work with--they won't let anyone win who isn't going to toe the contractual line. Paul--Love him, but he's not there to win, just to promote his band. He's pretty much said that--so there's no way, the show is going to waste the top spot on him. Although, he does have one of the most interesting and unique voices I've heard in a long time. He'll go far--he's already gotten what he entered for--name recognition. Pia is so talented, but she's vastly over-trained (she went to the performing arts high school, as you know)--to the point where she is all technical perfection and NO personality. It's annoying, sometimes to watch her sing, with her practiced hand gestures. Nothing natural about her. Don't think she's got a shot. I do like Scotty--his voice is so mature for a child, and he's finding a way to stay true to his roots and talent week after week. Don't think he'll win, but he'll be around for a lot longer. Casey's wonderful, but with his health problems, he hasn't a shot of winning--the producers aren't going to pin the responsibility of heading months worth of concerts on someone who may miss half of them for health reasons. And he hasn't been growing the past few weeks. Having a mental block here--the kid with tourette's? He's great--even though he's a rocker, he actually has a very, very good singing voice. Haley? There's a part of me that doesn't want to like her, and yet, I almost always find myself fascinated by her performances. She's definitely a unique specimen, isn't she? Lauren is okay. Good voice, but just a little too immature in a lot of ways for this year. It's a little sad that they opened the tryouts up to 15 year olds, because most of them simply aren't seasoned enough. At least the ones they found. Don't care for Jacob's off-key singing. Antonio annoys me--all he went through after being the victim of a drunk driver, then to be picked up for a DUI the next year? I really hope he doesn't win, for that reason alone (and he's not up with some of the others.

Gayle, I think you mean Allison too. Remember last year there were 2 contestants (Michael Johns and Carly Smithson) who both had had prior record deals... but neither of them made it too far in the competition. Then there was David Archuleta who had won "Star Search" and ended up in the top 2. Adam may be on broadway, but I think it's still fair that he's in the competition. Having sang on broadway may even hurt some singers since AI is not looking for that 'type' of singer. It doesn't seem to be hurting Adam though because he is very creative and 'current'.

I like Danny, but I think Adam is more "now". And I just love his look. Those eyes and that smile. And those pipes! He sure can belt them out.

I too am torn between Adam and Danny. I really do not like Meagan, especially the 'dancing' that she does.

Dial Idol has Jorge, Allison and Jasmine on the bottom, Danny, Adam and Lil on top. What do you think the new twist they are announcing tonight is going to be? I wonder if the judges are going to be able to override the vote. They need to do something to get it back to being a singing contest instead of a popularity contest. And to get rid of the influence of vote for the worst.

I don't know, missed the entire first half of the show so only got to hear clips of the first half of the singers. Megan is awful, can't stand the way she sings or dances. Other than that I can't comment.

Last year, I picked David Cook from the first show and never waived my support for him. Although I like Danny, I believe, if the choice was made today, Adam would win by a country mile. Adam has lots of sex appeal and a voice to back up the looks and moves. But...there may be a real "wild card" here this season. Scott just might go a long way because of his disability. Many people admire...and will vote for....people with disabilities because they give it 200% in order to make a dream happen. But, as for right now, I Adam would definitely get my vote.

I have to say that I really liked Adam the best, I was very surprised. I also like Danny and I like Megan. I think Jorge and Scott should go home. Jasmine is not that good either, how did she get into the finals???

I think it will be a nail biter between Danny, Adam and Alexis, although I didn't like her song that much last night.
I can see either of those two boys with her in the finale.
Anoop and Jorje were just boring last night.
So much of it depends on what the song categories are that they are allowed to pick from, and alot will depend on what the twist is tonite.

Lil rounds and Danny had amazing performances and both can sing just about anything. I'm hoping for them in the final two.

I think that they'll probably get the bottom 3 based on America's votes then the judges will choose who is leaving from those 3. I think they need to change it up a bit so I would like this change.

Megans little dancing drives me crazy!

Have to admit there are some really good ones this year. They each have their own style. Maybe the twist will be that there will be two winners. I vote for Adam and the 16 yr old, red hair girl. I can't remember her name either. I'm am sure most of them will come away with recording contracts but it is early.

Only thing I don't like this year is that I am getting tired of Paula and her antics. I think she and Simon act so childish.

I love Adam. I tape Idol and he is the only one that I watch twice. I actually I bought his rolling stones performance on ITUNES. I think he has great vocals, I like his look and he is a great showman.
I don't know if he will win, there are a lot of great singers this season. Many of them will have record labels after this show.

I am hoping Danny. I was not and am not a David Cook fan, so if it ends up looking like another David Cook kind of season (meaning Adam or possibly the girl with the red hair) it will be easy to turn off the television and gain a couple hours a week for something else. Nothing against them, just not my kind of music. But I am willing to see what they do with other types of music. I do wish them all good luck though.

I have said Danny Gokey since the tryouts and Hollywood week. Everything he sings is interesting and fresh.
