Comments (19)Love it so much, I had to find more info. on it. It is an updated terrazzo "look". The large scale instantly made me think it was something "new". Googled around... lots of misses until I typed in large scale painted terrazzo floor. I also thought it might be something new and interesting done with inkjet printing for tile. Anyway, first link was for an article about terrazzo making a comeback only large scaled....at apartment therapy.... right there on the page, there it was...lol, it says in the text, "This is maybe a bit much, but there's something undeniably cool about this bathroom tiled in a designer terrazzo called Marmoreal by dzek." Haha... it being a bit much is exactly why I love it! It is called Marmoreal... and it is an engineered marble in resin... real marble. I followed the links and see that it is made in London.... also, got the feeling that it would be way out of my price range...yup. Found a cheese board made out of it..a stinking cheese board costs 250 bucks! I think RockyBird could do something absolutely fabulous with this Marmoreal for her new bath. Apartment Therapy Marmoreal Interesting pics of it being used to cover large spaces, walls...See MorePlease Help! How to decorate with old oil art in contemporary home
Comments (27)Love the cow in foyer - makes me smile & makes the “serious“ art less so. May be perspective in photo but foyer looks long a bit austere. A longer table would help? Or, a chair or something with that ”weight“ next to existing table & on the front door side (right side facing table). Agree Larger art would be good over fireplace & would like to see the large piece you showed up there just to see difference It makes. Agree the items under existing art should be removed - leave the pitcher & 2 pieces on other end. Beautiful home !...See MoreHELP!!! Art work placement plus Entryway console
Comments (33)I have no help to add about the art but I do love the colorful rug @celery showed I the last post. Something dramatic with that gorgeous green in it will tie the room together. Your dining table is stunning! And the green chairs are a happy surprise ( most dining rooms have all chairs the same)....See MoreRight-sized & struggling with large sentimental art and other photos
Comments (7)Do you need a mirror by the front door? I haven't had a mirror by the entryways in our last two houses and have not missed. I would rather see color and art. For me, art has always been the last thing I do after a move. Even if that meant my collection sat it laundry baskets and crates for a few months. Also, it allowed me to feel the new place first. I would rather get it right the first time Since our last move, I still have numerous large and two crates of smaller art pieces in my cloffice I do not want to part with. I added a few more to walls after living here ten months, as the empty spaces started to bother me. I also hang art inside walk-in closets and pantries when there is space. Another line of thinking is favorite pieces do not necessarily need to be in public spaces. I agree with everything in @Aphaea's comment. Especially that less is sometimes more. More is more can only work in the right spaces....See Moreyayagal
