I did watch it and I would say Jon didn't seem too happy. I think there must be trouble between the two of them and the show since she said see you in season 5 and he said maybe we will be back and maybe not. I hadn't thought about her not being quite as mean to him as usual, but I think you are right, she wasn't.

I missed it. All I saw was reruns on ?? channel.

Glad Kate was more laid back. I imagine the outcry about her on the net made her see the light about how people perceived her and her snippiness, particularly toward Jon.

I watched and it had me wondering about the 5th season...I've always felt sorry for Jon. It seemed he did alot more than she did with taking care of the kids...And it did seem, he wasn't too happy but he should have known, if you're in the limelight like they are, you have no life....I just thought it was weird, he was at his mother's for a week, because she had hurt her ankle???? I know they have all kinds of help but that just seemed strange to me...
Did anyone notice the shoes she was wearing when she had the kids out? You know what they say about fame and money?????

I'm wondering if their climb to fame is just about up. Hence all the drama popping up. The children are getting older, and while they are still adorable, in a year or two they'll be in school most of the time. We've seen them go to the dentist, eye doctor, hair dressers, etc and me personally, I'm not so keen on watching them take trips/vacations.

Jon's definitely an outgoing person and while he's probably not doing anything wrong, he wants live a little without being judged and juried.

So now they've introduced a similar show - 12 to a Table, or whatever, but I couldn't get into it at all.

Everyone has their time and everyone needs down time. I hope Jon & Kate succeed as a couple and continue to raise their 6 well.

Something is not quite right.

I would hate to see them break up, for their own sakes as well as the children. Besides, I want to watch those kids grow up!

I believe his mother lives in Hawaii? And I think he said she broke her ankle, not just hurt it, which means she could need a lot of help. Correct me if I'm wrong.

LOTS of rumors running around on the web right now that they are getting a divorce, that Jon is fed up with her control freak attitude, that he was filmed in a compromising situation with some college girls in his Mom's hometown (supposedly video on the web), that they've officially separated, etc.

Official response from them is "B.S."

Not so odd. He said his Mom's husband wasn't there and that his Mom broke her foot and couldn't walk the dogs or get around the house very well. Just the way he said some things, though, makes me wonder if his Mom and her husband haven't separated.

I know I've gone to my Mom's several times - once when she had a mastectomy, and once when she had shoulder surgery - to help out.

I might not be a very nice guy, but I am a good son. :-)

I think Kate may just be calming down because the kids have reached the age where she could calm down a little bit. I'm reliving those first few years now so I'm acutely aware of the difference between a younger child and a 4-5 year old. The kids are potty-trained and can entertain themselves without constant supervision. You can walk with them outside without fear of them darting off in any direction. It's still not easy but by comparison, life is probably feeling much easier for her right now than it was. It's not unusual for people under stress to be short-tempered.

Not to mention, the four seasons of the television show and other deals have probably set them up financially quite well and I can imagine that money was one of their biggest stresses.

My sister read in one of the tabloids (don't know which one) that Jon's mother had broken her ankle-he went to her house to help out for a week while his step father was away on business, while there, he and some friends went to a bar, completely innocent, while at the bar some college girls recognised him and ask him to take some picturs with them, and he did. Still very innocent. According to the tabloid he was quoted as saying, even though it was all very innocent, the media would of course have a field day with it, and Kate would blow a gasket.

I have never watched this show.

Does either of them have a job outside the home? I think I heard that Jon works with computers?

Kate was a nurse and Jon worked in IT. Both worked after the babies were born but I don't think either of them currently work outside of the show, speaking engagements, books, etc.

Last night Jon said he was working at home but didn't like it. I think he likes getting out of the house.

I thought she seemed somewhat calmer last night. I think she thrives on the attention she gets. Kate needs to chill a lot. Let her kids be kids. Let them get dirty if they want to. And leave Jon alone. He can't say anything without her being rude to him, so he has found it easier to keep quiet. He is over the whole thing...her? She wants it to continue. Can you imagine the child support he would have to pay?

I was surfing between J&K+8 and DWTS. Does anyone remember if the two dogs they adopted were mentioned? Or have they "disapeared". Being the clean freak Kate is, I couldn't imagine her putting up with two puppies. I too noticed Jon looked a little fuller in the face. I hope this family is going to be OK, for the kids sake. Oh no, the dogs are still there. It showed the kids feeding them last night, but it appears that the dogs may be at least part time outside dogs now.

Did you notice how John said "I'm not John and Kate. I'm John!" I think he's fed up with the blogs analyzing them and jumping to conclusions. For myself, I think they're an amazing couple who made a good choice for their children. I can't even begin to imagine an entire film crew in my home while I was tending to eight kids. The pressure has to lead to much stress. Yet last night John again complimented her on how well she looks in clothes. They seem like excellent parents to me.

Lordy ... I wouldn't want thousands (millions?) of people checking under my fingernails ...

... even for large-sized bucks!

As somone said ... imagine the hassle of having a film crew underfoot ... in your own home ... day and night!

Ed- DWTS is a tv show- Dancing with the Stars.

I have a funny feeling that they won't be back for the 5th year. I think Jon's fed up with it all, he wants to get back to normal life again.

I think they're wonderful parents and that they are devoted to their kids and each other. My goodness if my DH & I were followed with cameras you might hate me too! I think we're just so critical when we watch from outside. The pressure and the stress they've both been under must be enormous. I believe they know each other very well and intend to stick together as a loving family.
