Although it could be a hoax going around the net and I don't know about that either. But the recipes do sound like him (I used to watch him on tv all the time but can't seem to catch him anymore) There was a note on the inside of the "internet" cookbook that said this: Jamie Oliver's new cook book for free! How good is this..... Cook book = £20 Ingredients = £10 Getting sacked for "accidentally" releasing the book to the entire planet before it even hits the shelves = PRICELESS! It seems that someone at Jamie Oliver's publishing company sent a word document version of his 2nd book to one of their mates this morning. Unfortunately for the poor sap who sent the word document, it is now flying around the web at a rate of knots. So print what you like AND please spare a thought for the poor bugger that originally sent it, while enjoying the food you make from the recipes!!! The deal of the day - Jamie Oliver's latest cook book. RRP £20 at most participating book stores. Yours for nothing! Enjoy & Pass it on!! I just have a guilty feeling about passing something on like that. I should have read it before I offered. If someone can make me get rid of the guilty feeling for the "poor sap".... I'd pass it on!!! It's also good reading, if you know Jamie and how he speaks.

Martha, I enjoyed reading your blog about your cookbook club. Sounds like y'all have great fun and super road trips! (Click on photo to see full recipe) I made this recipe the month that we had a brunch theme. It is from the Birmingham Junior League Tables of Content cookbook. If you need a meat to pair with it, try Millionaire Bacon. I first ate Millionaire Bacon at Fred's Coffee Shop in Sausalito, CA. It was divine. I use the recipe below from BaconToday.com, except I cut back on the cayenne and black pepper. I probably only use 1/2 teaspoon of each. And, 5 Tablespoons of brown sugar will only cover a bit over a 1/2 lb of bacon for me. Millionaire Bacon 1 pound of thick-cut bacon 5 tbsp packed brown sugar 1 tsp. Cayenne Pepper 1 tsp. Black Pepper Directions: Line a baking pan with foil. Combine all of your spices and sugar together into a bowl and mix thoroughly. If you want your bacon more coated in sweet and spicy flavor, add more ingredients to your liking. Apply liberally to each strip of bacon by taking each strip and hand rubbing them. Bake until crisp for 20- 30 minutes (depending upon your crispy liking). Please let your bacon cool a little after you’ve made this recipe. NOTE from bbstx: Keep a close eye on the bacon after about the 15 minute mark. The ends will burn. I sometimes cover the ends with strips of foil to prevent burning. Do not attempt to drain this bacon on paper towels. You will end up picking little pieces of paper off the very sticky bacon - or, if you're like me, you'll get frustrated and just eat the little giblets of paper!

@Annette Holbrook(z6b-7a) I would put some thought into how he will use those salt & pepper shakers. If they're meant to be decorative for use on the table then the ones with the little crank handle on the top will be fine. But if the intent is that he will use them while preparing dishes then those will be unwieldy and much more likely to break. I use mine (Cole & Mason) for cooking exclusively and I love them because: they fit the hand perfectly they're heavy duty and well made (i've dropped them many times, no damage) easy to use when trying to juggle multiple pans at the same time easy to re-fill and clean they look nice on the table as well so they serve both purposes

I'm on that same journey, trying to stick to low salt options and lower cholesterol options. That's why I mentioned "beans and grains" because if you become a "vegetarian" and still eat all kinds of dairy and eggs, you're not really lowering saturated fats . . . sigh. That's why I started eating some meat again because I realized from both a health and environmental perspective, (even an animal care perspective) there really wasn't much difference between eating a diet with a lot of dairy and eggs and one with meat, and in some cases, the meat options were healthier . . . but I still then try to eat "vegan" and fiber rich meals because those are the best for heart health. It's more of a struggle in the winter and early spring . . . Speaking of that, and speaking of CSA's, my best friends joined one near there summer cottage many years ago, and I got them a fresh produce cookbook to help them come up with creative ways to use all the produce. When CSA's first started, I noticed there was a glut of vegetable/farm market cookbooks coming out. I looked through quite a few, which you can probably still find at the aforementioned library!! Here's the one I bought, I am a fan of Andrea Chessman, her recipes are always very practical. I don't think she is active anymore, most of her books are out of print but worth seeking out IMHO. My late Mother got me a vegetable cookbook from Williams and Sonoma one year for Christmas. The recipes are pretty good but the big appeal is the sexy inspirational photographs of each dish. You might look for something like that to up your kitchen mojo, although such things can be found now online in blogs.
