Hmm... Well if you add enough spices, you can eat anything! I don't even want to think about some of the "meat" that I've had in spicy dishes in Asia! ;~) As long as it's stopped moving and doesn't try to talk to me... I'm so mad! One of my worst rual terrorists got away last night! :~( I set my trap with a duck egg and finally caught another fox. It was 11'ish and I left dealing with it for today. I'd been out doing fence repairs and just wanted to shut down for the night. This morning, it was gone!:~0 They aren't suppose to be able to get out of these. With the ponds getting lower and lower, my few ducks left...will be no ducks left! We did have a truce until they started raiding the poulty and gardens so badly! One or two were fine, but now I have a ravenous horde! Fortunately, they don't seem interested in orchids. Although, I wonder if they've been diggin' in my Cyps!

I have this problem too and would love to hear what solution you found. The corner of our yard, mid-point of our sloped parcel has a foul dead animal smell only when the weather warms up. It can't be smelled during the cool mornings, just in the afternoon/evenings. There is not much direct sunlight, the soil is moist but not boggy, it does dry out. We have eliminated the possibility of dead animals and gas leaks, this is now the second spring it has emerged. No plants appear to be growing that could cause the smell, it is mostly bare soil.

Beneficial nematodes will get rid of the grubs. Safe and organic.

Remember when de-scenting skunks was all the rage? Had a friend with a pet skunk...cute when they're little but never heard of one yet that didn't bite the hand that fed it at some point. We smell the occasionally, and the dog's been skunked at least once, but here we've no real problem with them. They actually seem to have more of a problem with them in town than out here. Back in Missouri I had one take residence under my house. After she had her babies raised I waited until they left for the night and then closed up the hole. You don't want to close up the hole with anyone inside! Anna
