CGM-contaminated??? That's something you don't see every day. Never thought of CGM contaminating anything, but in this case I guess it is. I'm curious. Mulch is what we do when we cannot afford to water, fertilize, and mow a lawn. You have the opposite issue. Give me your address and I'll make a few calls to tree trimmers who will dump a few hundred cubic yards of chipped tree limbs on your driveway for you. Then when the trees dump their leaves on it, you can use a leaf blower to "rake" your leaves. On to your present concern: if you keep the area moist, the CGM will decompose more quickly. Lagniappe: CGM does not prevent the germination, it prevents the root from growing once the seed has germinated.

your results may differ from silvia's... i never quite understand what causes broc to bolt. sometimes big heads will stay green and tight for weeks, and then smaller offshoots will sprout seemingly immediately. it's likely caused by multiple combinations of many things. anyway, i eat them sprouted. they really don't taste any different...

Dh just came home & I asked him. This is my layman's version. Red paint is mostly colorant and so has less base paint in it and takes more to get a good cover. If you used 3 thick coats, it is probably just that, too thick & needs more cure time. On the spots not sticking, he said if they are truly not adhering, you have a problem and you should either scrape, strip or sand those spots until you get down to something solid, smooth the whole door & start over. If it's sticky, it will gum up the sandpaper, but can be done. Then, if you are using a neutral base paint, use a gray base primer and it will be easier to cover. What is the specific paint you were using, i.e. brand, type (acrylic latex, etc). He suggests you go back over it with an acrylic latex and you'll be fine.
