Aw, Thanks everyone! My day hasn't actually started yet, except here at the Cooking forum. Yesterday was lovely, until dh called me from the garage telling me our dog had a smackdown with a car. She unexpectedly crossed the street to meet and greet a neighbor and ran into a moving vehicle and knocked herself out cold. I guess it was pretty scary as it was thought she was dead at first, by him and the neighbors. She was bleeding from the nose and coughing, and by the time she was completely checked out, back to normal. Whew! Sharon, I used to have a bougainvillea exactly that color! Thanks for starting my day with such a blast from the past. And Sol, of course being a Scorpio, fall colors are my favorite! Thank you all. I'll check back a little later to let you know how the day turned out. The good news is my dog is healthy, the weather's fine and the day glorious with fall leaves...

I don't know why I didn't open this thread before - I guess I didn't think I had any happy photos! Last year DS and his wife took me on a road trip for my birthday, the first time they had done that. Bought me lunch and everything. It's sure gratifying to realize your child is finally an adult. Anyway, here's Littlebug, smiling and waving from a play structure at Reiman Gardens in Ames, Iowa. DS didn't think I would climb in there! I guess I showed him. Golfers will recognize this one - the bridge on #18 at the Old Course, St. Andrews, Scotland, May 2014. Marking it off my bucket list. I look kind of rumpled - it rained and rained and rained. And was very windy.

Thanks Everyone! What a way to celebrate a birthday! I highly recommend combining the event with someone and going to a tropical paradise. This the time of year I appreciate every one of you.
