Thank you everyone for the good wishes, kind words and for remembering my "big" birthday! Annie, we followed your suggestion by celebrating long and hard! The birthday kicked off with a "family" party on Saturday night at a sensational Italian restaurant. To make the evening even more fun, the star of "Castle" was at the next table! On Sunday evening we dined with friends. The company was great, the food was good, but the dessert was amazing! Drunken figs on a fudgy chocolate slice with berries and vanilla ice cream! Divine! Today DH took me to the Bel Air Hotel for lunch. It's a beautiful and peaceful oasis nestled in the hills and surrounded by homes of astounding size! Wolfgang Puck happened to be on site shooting some photos for an upcoming book. We chatted a bit and then enjoyed a yummy lunch topped off by a piece of gluten free chocolate cake that was fantastic! Thanks Annie, I had completely forgotten that the Monkey Princess was my birthday twin! Actually we also have Lee in Colorado with the same birthday, so make that birthday triplets! I hope Makayla was properly feted! I had a terrific day-- week! My dearest friends took me to lunch and dinner was at Maggiano's with the family after the kids TaeKwonDo session. The only bummer is I wasn't planning on buying a new oven for my birthday present! (see post about oven advice) In the afternoon between lunch and dinner I was out shopping for a new double oven! Oh well, it will be new and shiny when I finally decide which oven to buy LOL !

I didn't realize that you and Lee had the same birthday! Have a great day, and let us know what you end up doing. I remember one year you said you went to a lobster restaurant in Santa Monica, and that's still on my list of places to go for one of my birthdays.

Hi everyone, thank you so much for my birthday wishes!
The morning was rough, my dad is now in a home and has declined so much. I went to see him for a hug and birthday wishes. He managed the hug, but not much else.

At work I had cards and a nice plant as a cheery hello on my desk. A casual dinner with DH, the kids, the grands and my Mom who were all bearing gifts! Jayden my 5y.o. DGS, everywhere he went told the entire world how old I am today! The little stinker! That's the last time I tell him confidential info! LOL

Sorry to hear your dad is declining, but glad you got a hug. Don't you love gk's! Too funny about Jayden. Aleksi keeps getting my age backwards, which at this point is not very beneficial.
