We had a good day, lunch was a fun surprise, we ate at CRAFT, "Top Chef's" Tom Colicchio's outpost in Century City. Service was excellent, the food, suffice it to say, just wasn't to our taste. It's a great space, but I much preferred the food at Mario Batali's, Mozza Pizzeria. We then shopped around and DH bought me one gift and maybe something else too if I can make a decision! We never made it to the Vanity Fair exhibit, but it's still on our To-Do list. Dinner with my parents this evening at a local (the Valley Inn-- stop laughing Jessy)eatery. It's okay, but definitely better than the alternative stress of eating at my mother's! Thanks for all the good wishes,despite missing seeing my kids and grands, it turned out to be a much nicer day than I anticipated!

Thank you everyone for the good wishes! It began very nicely, lots of phone calls etc. We had a late brunch, then a movie and out to dinner with my parents. Unfortunately later in the evening something tore my stomach apart and I spent the rest of the night you know where. I'm quite ill today, the doctor saw me and thinks it might be an infection. I'm staying on clear liquids for the time being. Sigh, definitely not my best birthday! LOL, Woodie Absolutely, Diana! How nice to see messages from Weed and Doris!

Oh my gosh! I met Brenda in Austin a few years ago. She drove up from San Antonio and May came from Houston. We had a nice lunch together. Then she came to L.A. and met up with some of us here. We emailed a couple of times, she was preoccupied with the family situation for a long time. It was very stressful for her. I'm so sorry to hear this.

Thanks everyone, I had a wonderful day! I took the day off to spend it with DD. She relinquished kid duties to her DH and off we went to the outlet mall for some "girl" time!

We returned to celebrate at Benihana with the entire family. The little guys love eating there and the fun atmosphere adds to the celebration. No dirty dishes, no tired cooks. A good time was had by all and I feel blessed with all the good wishes!

Lars- Earlier this week, DH and I had an excellent dinner with friends at Casa del Mar's restaurant, "Catch". During the summer I had bought a coupon on Travelzoo for a prix fixe meal for two. The food was superior, we loved the laid back ambiance and the music in the lounge. This was the foodie portion of my birthday. Today was all about the family!
