Hi everyone and thank you for the good wishes. I guess they must have worked, because I had a very nice day! I took the day off of work and had lunch and did a bit of shopping with DD, then caught up on errands and work on the remodel. I even managed to fit in some "me time" for a manicure. Tonight we dined at a relatively new Italian restaurant called Farfalla. With their bread they served a roasted veggie pureed spread that DH adored. My meal was Branzino (Italian Sea Bass), crashed polenta, and rapini. For dessert they served a refreshing mango sorbet. DH had veal Saltimboca and Mom had the Piccata. All of us were delighted! A less stressed day was the perfect gift! No time with the grands today due to schedule conflicts and early bedtimes, but they made sure to sing to me over the phone. We'll celebrate on the weekend! P.S. to Lars-- I'm happy that you enjoyed your birthday at the Lobster and pleased that my description inspired your visit!

Thank you everyone for the good wishes, kind words and for remembering my "big" birthday! Annie, we followed your suggestion by celebrating long and hard! The birthday kicked off with a "family" party on Saturday night at a sensational Italian restaurant. To make the evening even more fun, the star of "Castle" was at the next table! On Sunday evening we dined with friends. The company was great, the food was good, but the dessert was amazing! Drunken figs on a fudgy chocolate slice with berries and vanilla ice cream! Divine! Today DH took me to the Bel Air Hotel for lunch. It's a beautiful and peaceful oasis nestled in the hills and surrounded by homes of astounding size! Wolfgang Puck happened to be on site shooting some photos for an upcoming book. We chatted a bit and then enjoyed a yummy lunch topped off by a piece of gluten free chocolate cake that was fantastic! Anele...with all you have going on I am so pleased you found this thread and sent your wishes. Thank you ! DH is a special guy. If it weren't for him I know I wouldn't be meditating and that has led to so much more as far as my piece of mind....which he then benefits from. A win/win situation for sure. Thanks everyone, I had a wonderful day! I took the day off to spend it with DD. She relinquished kid duties to her DH and off we went to the outlet mall for some "girl" time!

We returned to celebrate at Benihana with the entire family. The little guys love eating there and the fun atmosphere adds to the celebration. No dirty dishes, no tired cooks. A good time was had by all and I feel blessed with all the good wishes!

Lars- Earlier this week, DH and I had an excellent dinner with friends at Casa del Mar's restaurant, "Catch". During the summer I had bought a coupon on Travelzoo for a prix fixe meal for two. The food was superior, we loved the laid back ambiance and the music in the lounge. This was the foodie portion of my birthday. Today was all about the family!
