Thank you everyone for the good wishes! It began very nicely, lots of phone calls etc. We had a late brunch, then a movie and out to dinner with my parents. Unfortunately later in the evening something tore my stomach apart and I spent the rest of the night you know where. I'm quite ill today, the doctor saw me and thinks it might be an infection. I'm staying on clear liquids for the time being. Sigh, definitely not my best birthday! LOL, Woodie Absolutely, Diana! How nice to see messages from Weed and Doris!

Thanks Annie, I had completely forgotten that the Monkey Princess was my birthday twin! Actually we also have Lee in Colorado with the same birthday, so make that birthday triplets! I hope Makayla was properly feted! I had a terrific day-- week! My dearest friends took me to lunch and dinner was at Maggiano's with the family after the kids TaeKwonDo session. The only bummer is I wasn't planning on buying a new oven for my birthday present! (see post about oven advice) In the afternoon between lunch and dinner I was out shopping for a new double oven! Oh well, it will be new and shiny when I finally decide which oven to buy LOL !

Actually, since it's Monday, you were supposed to start celebrating on Saturday. Maybe Friday night. Every year it takes longer, you know, because we just keep getting better and better. (grin)

Thank you everyone for the good wishes, kind words and for remembering my "big" birthday!
Annie, we followed your suggestion by celebrating long and hard! The birthday kicked off with a "family" party on Saturday night at a sensational Italian restaurant. To make the evening even more fun, the star of "Castle" was at the next table!
On Sunday evening we dined with friends. The company was great, the food was good, but the dessert was amazing! Drunken figs on a fudgy chocolate slice with berries and vanilla ice cream! Divine!
Today DH took me to the Bel Air Hotel for lunch. It's a beautiful and peaceful oasis nestled in the hills and surrounded by homes of astounding size! Wolfgang Puck happened to be on site shooting some photos for an upcoming book. We chatted a bit and then enjoyed a yummy lunch topped off by a piece of gluten free chocolate cake that was fantastic!
This delicious dining weekend added unneeded pounds, but really helped to ease my crossing the threshold of a new decade!

Wow, hobnobbing with the stars and everything. What a way to celebrate. Which star of Castle, Nathan Fillian (sp?) or the lady? (I'm terrible with star names.)

Sorry I missed this yesterday, but I'll send my best belated birthday greetings to you.
