Got a weird phone call just now..

From an attorney.He called regarding Linda*****,who is my EX husbands ex-wife! LOL! I said why are you calling ME about her? Apparently she has a case pending with him about a settlement for something and they can't get ahold of her.She has my name down on the contact list as a RELATIVE!!!!WTH! LOL! I said I'm not a relative,I'm her EX husbands EX WIFE! He asked if I had a number or an address to contact her...uhhh ...NO! She must be a real idiot...I'm a RELATIVE???I don't think so! LOL!

I've been divorced 20 years and occassionally get calls for my ex.
I also get calls from collection agencies for the man who owns the property next to us.
I know who the man is but that's ALL.
There is too much information out there these days when collection agencies can locate numbers for and call NEIGHBORS. *sigh*

Well our televison has a mute button so I amuse myself by pushing it and then saying what i think the commercials should say. e.g. "See all these policemen they are coming to arrest me but since I have all these law books I will just throw the book at them." Or "this is the star wars missile defence system, I was playing with it and hit the wrong button and wiped out my opponent." But for phone calls i just hang up.

Well we really wanted to "drunk" somemore, but we ran outta stuff to drunk. Drink I mean. I had a cup of black coffee before I left. Such fun. I tell you, I'm the only sane one in the bunch. Just ask my Shrink. Everyone says I don't look like my picture. LOL! I had to leave quickly before Dean woke up, because he thought it was to stormy. My BR light burned out and I dressed in the dark and even put on my makeup in the dark. I look like a Texas Tumbleweed. I had to hurry to jump ahead of the storm and of course Rath of Dean. So I took $60.00 out of his wallet and a Credit Card in case I wanted to buy myself a "grudge" surprise and fleed the crime scene.

Oh, the sink, the sink! I kept it (no other choice, if I wanted my kitchen done in the next 6 months!) I have the "blackhead" visible on the front. But the counter will cover the pimple on the lip. I'm just thinking of my sink as a teenager with a complexion problem, and kind of laughing about it at this point. I almost even changed where the counter would lie on the sink so that the pimple would show! Because I thought it would be kinda funny. The sink is shimmed up between and eighth and a quarter on one side, but it doesn't really show at all. Hard to believe, but true! I will offer this bit of Shaw's advice (I am truly, truly sink cursed). If you are ever positioning your sink on a cabinet, don't push it backwards really hard, causing it to slam into a screw head. Because when fireclay meets a screw head, the screw head will win. I'm still smiling (though no soapstone til january)....... :-D Francy

We've lived in our house over 3 years and not only am I still getting mail for the previous owner, but his wife's ex! It drives me crazy.

Chubbyrat I'll be it was a collection agency. They use all kinds of tricks to find people. My Dad received a similiar call when I was in college except he said I was due monies from an aunt's estate. LOL I hadn't had any aunt's recently pass away.

That would be a shock CR and especially her claiming you are a relative. Very odd! Seems I had to carry my divorce papers around for absolutely YEARS.

I too think it was just a lawyer's tactic to try to get information from you about her whereabouts. Ex's are great for giving out info especially if they think their Ex or anyone related to them is going to get in trouble. I highly doubt she listed you as family or a relative on anything.

I used to get collection calls regarding my landlord. We moved out of that house years ago. The calls stopped.

I have gotten calls re my DGD's ex's sister!

I don't know her, have never met or even seen her. She lives in California; I have never been in California; as far as I know she has never been in Virginia.

I recognized the name and asked my DGD about it and she said it would have been a collection agency because the girl has been in $$trouble for a long time.

She has a first name that could be male or female. When the caller asked if I knew HIS address, I knew they didn't even know who they were looking for.

I would love to know how they got my number.

CR, I hope you don't get any more calls. Hope I don't either.

it's funny you should mention this.. i got a call about a neighbor i don't even know...wonder if it's some new scam?
i bet they do reverse directory (by address instead of name)

I betcha a dollar it was a collection agency. They were just hoping you could tell them something that would help them find her.

I got a call for one of my neighbors once. They somehow knew we were on the same st. and they were bold enough to ask me to get a message to them. I agree there's way too much info out there.
