The Little Dog that Could...Video

I love dogs. I honestly do not understand why people abuse helpless creatures that have been placed on this earth for us to care for and NOT to take out their anger or flustration on them. It is nice to see that one of God's creatures gets a second chance in a loving home. See the video of Starfish, the little dog who could.

So sad and yet so beautiful. Our dog, Benji, was in an abusive home before we got him. He is so wonderfully affectionate and so caring to us when we don't feel well.

I had surgery last month and he wouldn't leave my side, day or night. He also has a heart problem and a lot more problems but we are so very thanful that he came into our home. He has given us so much comfort and pleasure. I guess it is his way of showing appreciation maybe.

Some cats can be amazingly protective. I've had two family cats who exhibited that behavior, and both were females. One took on FIVE large, unfamiliar dogs at the same time in defense of a family dog. Hi CB! Sure.. this is the latest version I do, it's so very flexible. 28 oz whole tomatoes 4 oz pickled jalapenos 2 cloves garlic handful of cilantro juice of 1 lime 1 tsp oregano salt to taste Put all ingredients in a food processor and pulse to the texture you desire. I puree the stuff very thin as that seems to be what I find served around here. Again, the recipe is very elastic so if it' a little too spicy cut back on the jalapenos and vice versa. I will throw in a bell pepper or a few banana peppers if I get the urge etc.... Make it what you like. :)

Lil had a good night, and a normal bm. Today she's not limped at all. She ate today and is drinking well. Shes jumping on the couch and off again so I had to set my daughter as her guard. The door is open and shes looking out..tries to bark at things, she's barking but not as loudly as before. Shes following me around. Her temp is 101 so normal. She is for sure healing. I can't even express my relief. I can see in her eyes she's lost that look of pleading, you pet owners know the look I'm talking about. Her vet called me this morning to check on her, she still thinks Lil had a stroke.....maybe...but I think its possiable 2 things have been going on...an injury from the tech and a virus..remember she had a fever. I called a ton of vets today..most would see her but payment in full at time of service.they told me the bill would be high as they would need to do blood work, xrays and possibly other testing...none would hold my cars title and allow payments. I ask them all. Hopefully Lil will continue improving. I am so Thankful to all of you for your support and recommendations..some of which I'm still looking into..its nice to not feel so alone.Thank You.

I just had the same thing happen to my 1 year old cat. We had let him out on Sunday. When he came in he was just fine. On Monday morning I could tell something was wrong. I waited until in the afternoon to call my friend a vet wannabe. I was going to take him up there, 40 miles but it was blowing and snowing. I said if he isn't better in the morning I will bring him up. Tuesday he wasn't any better. He checked him and the only thing he could find was that he had a tender spot on his stomach. I had noticed it too when I picked him up. He didn't know what it could be. He decided to give him an antibiotic in case he had infection. I brought him home and he just laid around. He hadn't eaten in 2 days or went to the litter box. I started praying to St. Francis the patron saint for animals in the Catholic church. I had looked the prayer up on the internet. Then I thought of using holy water. I sprinkled some on him, and I thought maybe he will lick it and get some inside. I don't know if he licked himself or not, but within a short time he got up and started eating a little and drank a little water. It took a couple of days for him to start running around like he always did and now I can't even tell he was sick. I don't care if anyone else believes this or not. All that is important is that he is OK. I will pray for your dog. Good luck.

I understand how you feel redcurls. I know you must have a deep compassion and love for dogs and animals. I cannot watch the program on Animal Planet where the animal control people from different cities rescue dogs, cats, horses from abusive situations. I would watch it and find myself crying, and depressed. It did get me to get out my wallet and give to a local rescue organization, so maybe that is a good thing. I don't know, but the "little dog that could" has a happy ending so I really hope that there are a few dogs, animals in this world will get the love and help they so truly deserve through our love and help. I am so sorry that this upsets anyone.

We purchased two part mini poodles late last spring from our humane society. Poor little things had been brought in at 3 years of age, they were severely underweight, had never been groomed or had seen a vet, weren't toilet trained, or trained in any way for that matter. Very scared trembling creatures. The humane society had a volunteer groomer who tried her best, they neutered them and gave them the rabies shot. We immediately took them to our vet for a thorough checkup and the rest of their immunizations etc. We worked with a trainer and clicker trained them, fed them properly and had them groomed properly. They are happy and much better nourished now, if anything we overdid that part. You sure wouldn't recognize them now. They have turned out to be very sweet lovable pooches. They also didn't even know how to play, they do now!
