Sign outside Vernadsky (Ukrainian) Research Station, Antarctica. This is the southern most point we reached on our trip.

Had my camera with me this afternoon when I spied what I first thought was a squirrel in front of a local church building. The "squirrel" (when I put my glasses on!) turned out to be this guy:

Ronm80, the picture I posted is from about 1960. I'm in the striped blue pants and my younger sister is next to me in the red striped pants. My dad is standing behind me, loved those hats men wore in those days, so jaunty. My older brother is next to dad, then mom folding a table cloth, then my two oldest sisters on the right. That's my oldest brother on the left with the fishing pole. Two of my older sisters aren't in the picture but were nearby. The tent was an old army tent my dad had. I remember it well, as we'd play in it at home. We'd all pile in my Dad's 1958 Chevy (or was it a Ford?) and drive to the beach as often as we could. I remember that old coffee pot on the far right side of the picture. Good old days. :)

My neighbour brought over a Santa hat and "collar" to put on our cats. Bud had it on first, and he looks totally ticked, or embarrassed. He wouldn't move. Just laid there like a log.... Then I put it on Roxie. She is swatting at Bud's head, as if to tell him not to laugh at her!
