Wall flowers from Bath & Body

Have you ever tried these? They are kind of pricey and I found one at a thrift store recently for 50 cents. They are wonderful! They will scent a whole room for about a month or more. I think they are on sale now, online anyway. You can find them for about $6. when on sale in the store.

The one I found must have been old, It was a "creamy cove" or something like that, it sure smells good.

Glad you mentioned this! My DD gave me one, and it's run out. I'll have to get myself a refill. The scent was Pumpkin something. "Creamy Cove" sounds interesting. LOL

If you are often cold when you take a shower or have a drafty bathroom then body sprays can help make sure you stay warm. They are designed to surround you with water which is very pleasant. I suppose worth it could also mean do they add value to your home. Well a shower system in the master bath have been shown to increase home value. I put in the handheld for a couple of reasons, one is that the hose allows the head to be moved around and hung from other points in the shower. Example; I have a head bracket in the wall down low, my wife sometimes hangs the head on that when she's shaving her legs, etc. Or the hose allows you to easily use the head to rinse down the walls and floor of the shower. Some people use it to wash their kids or even their dogs. One thing I learned a few years ago is that handhelds are no longer the cheap leaking showerheads that I grew up with back in the 70s. Hand held heads are now the same fine quality shower heads that go on a shower arm, except they're mounted on a (ta da!) handle. The only caution I'll offer is that rain heads have a gentle flow, it's not the vigorous spray that typical shower heads provide. Some people with long hair would find rinsing shampoo from their hair to be a slow process. So don;t plan on a rain head as your "main" shower head.

Bath and body lotions, scents?

I also have to be careful with scents. They not only make me have a headache but my eyes itch and sometimes I will break out in hives. From Bath and Body Works, I can use Moonlight Path - a light lavendar scent. I also like White Citrus. Anything like the musk scents (Sensual Amber, even though I like the smell of it) will make my eyes itch with in a few minutes. I recently have been on a search for a new scent in lotion or bath powder since I can't wear the perfumes. I found one I really liked but hubs didn't care for it. It was Cashemere by Donna Karan. I can't describe it but I put some of the lotion on and it didn't bother me in the least bit and the scent lasted. I ended up with the lotion for the fragrance Beautiful since I had worn the perfume years ago when I still could and l liked it. Hubs liked it but not the price! Oh well, it goes under the Christmas tree so it made it happy - less shopping for him on his own. Put some of the ones you think you may like on the little cards they have at the counters and lay them on your dresser. See which ones you can tolerate. As I said, the Moonlight Path at B&BW is the best day to day one for me. The body spray is too much but the lotion is good.

I used to have a tub/shower combo with the diverter and I would run the water through the tub until it was the right temperature and then switch to the shower head. I would then get in. Getting wet or whatever was never an issue. I replaced the tub/shower combo with a shower that has the footprint of the tub and it has a regular shower head plus two hand held shower heads with a three way diverter. There really isn't much of a cold burst of water when I divert from one fixture to another because there is only a tiny bit of water that is in the pipes that needs to come out before the hot water comes through. It's really not an issue as it is not at all like standing under a shower head waiting for the warm water to come from the main source where there is probably a significant amount of water that needs to come through before you get the right temperature.

I don't have a Wall Flower, but I have a Scent Bug - it is battery operated and you can put it anywhere.

I love the Japanese Cherry Blossom scent - mmmmm!

I love the plug ins...I use the Airwick ones with a night light! The BBWorks are pricey but not much more then the airwick ones!! What a great bargain you found!

The scent bugs use scented oil. You put several drops onto a cotton pad that goes into the machine. It lasts a very long time.

I use rechargeable batteries - because I usually forget to turn it off.

I have used some of the Yankee Candle scented oils with it also. Love it!

I gave up on the Wallflowers and Yankee Candle ones. They just didn't seem to last. I love the Febreeze ones, they last a long time and smell great! I think they have a coupon now.

I use them both. Febreeze sometimes is too strong, even on the low setting. The wallflowers seem to be really "scenty" at first, then I don't really notice them for the last several weeks. You should shop the clearance sale. I stock up on them when they are about 3.00 apiece.

I used to be a diehard Wallflower fan, back in the days when they were made by the White Barn Candle Company. Then Slatkin took them over and for the first couple of years they were OK. Now the scent only seems to last a couple of days and then you have 3 weeks of nothing.

Lots of complaints on the Facebook discussion board about the poor quality of late. I too have switched to Febreze Noticeables. The scents aren't as sophisticated, but at least they last.

Joann, I believe the scent you are referring to is Creamy Nutmeg. It used to be one of my favorites.

Check the website for sales. They almost always have the two pack refills at $6 on sale. And the stores now carry 6 singles for $24.

Hope you have better luck with the current ones that I did.
