Any Free and Safe ECard Sites left?

I like the cards on Blue Mountain, but don't feel like paying since I wouldn't use the service often.

I'd like to send my nephew a ecard next week. Does anyone know of any free sites that won't add the receipients name to some spam list??

Hallmark has free and pay-for ecards, I use them all the time. You will not get spam from them.

Still looking. My daughter's inlaws have one of a forest scene where a deer or rabbit or something appears then disappears. This is honestly, more to my liking - just not a big H.Potter fan, I know that's heresy to some, but I'll pass it along to my daughter who is - it does sound cute. She'll ask but the inlaws probably don't know who put the aforementioned wildlife screen saver on their computer as they're not very computer savy, she said.

The link I gave you was to a rating site independent of Dafont, and if you look around that site you will find bad reviews posted for other web sites and businesses, so I wouldn't be concerned that someone is manipulating the ratings. Besides, all you have to do is Google "Dafont ratings" and you'll find additional positive ratings, like those on the respected site WOT in the link below, where Dafont has 56 ratings and all but a couple are "I trust," and where other users appear to disagree with whoever left the unfavorable ratings. It's up to you whether you want to use them, but, if you want free fonts from any source, at some point you are going to have to trust somebody. If a site has positive reviews from many sources and no bad reports, that generally satisfies me that they are reliable. When I Googled "Dafont scam" I didn't get any hits that caused me to be concerned. In fact what came up first was a link to another site I trust that had a list of free font sites that weren't scams, including Dafont. With anything I download from a web site, I save it to my desktop and do a virus scan before I use or install it. If you continue to be concerned, maybe you should just buy some font software at a computer store so you don't have to worry about whether you can trust a free or even a pay site. Jacquie Lawson is my choice too......The cards are beautiful... I think anyone has the right to trash anything they receive in their email list but if I received notification that a friend had gone to the trouble and sometimes cost of sending me an e-card, I would for sure check it out.... It's nice to know that someone thought of me and took the time to do an card...

I only use this one..it is great & you can even choose a funny singing card..try it-a zillion catagories & music selections & witty/(some funny, some mean), sayings!

Lydia, I know you said FREE, but the only e-card website I trust costs $12 a year - about the cost of 6 greeting cards.

I prefer to pay a little for a subscription because I feel more confident regarding spam, bots that search the site for e-mail addresses and virus problems (for example, the Hallmark virus scam).

It also has one of the most beautiful e-cards on the web in my opinion. You can view them for free:

I should add that I realize the Hallmark site wasn't responsible for the virus, but the free site names are more likely to be used to spread phishing viruses, and that makes people a little more uncomfortable about opening them.

I have to admit that because I pay for the service I tend to send cards out more often. My father in law loves the patriotic ones on the 4th of July - it gives him a smile.

I send the special occasion cards out all the time to multiple recipients. I send the Christmas ones out to my coworkers and they love getting them at work.

Anyway, just adding a thought.

I never open an e-card, regardless of who sent it, or where it came from. They go straight to the deleted file.

You could attach one of the cute "snags" that get posted here and write a personal note in an email. Those are always fun to get!!

There is a new warning about ecards, but it was talking about e-postcards etc. Go to snopes.com and it will tell you what to look for.
