I never saw it. But I do hate it when the networks cancel new shows after one year or less.

A Gifted Man is definitely one of my favorites. I also love The Firm and Once Upon a Time. I wish the networks would give them a chance--maybe move them to a different time slot. Darn!!

I don't think they give them a long-enough chance. I know that it took me a couple of shows to get into Once Upon a Time. DH loved it at the outset. Same as Gifted Man. The first show I wasn't sure, then it quickly became a favourite.

I love the ongoing story lines in all these shows.

I am so frustrated with the networks anymore. They toss any good show off after giving it no chance. Then they put up these stupid reality shows.

I know the bottom line is $$$ - but they have really lost me as a viewer.

I loved SouthLAnd and NBC dumped it. TNT picked it up, thank heavens. It is a great show - but has a very short season.

I loved Prime Suspect and they cancelled that right away. They replaced that with the Firm. I watched it once and did not like it at all (I think because I figured they had it in the wings and that is why they tanked Prime Suspect.)

Thank goodness for the History Channel - lol!

I'm very disappointed about A Gifted Man as well. I really liked it and was just "getting into" the story.

I've always liked stories with good plots and interesting characters. I hate those dopey reality shows. I will watch any future episodes of A Gifted Man so I can know what I've been missing.

I didn't watch Gifted Man but I like Once a upon a Time and The Firm until it moved and I thought it was gone. Networks don't give shows a chance anymore.

Did someone say something about, "idiotic ... reality"?

And can one watch it in "real time"?

Reality shows are cheap. So there are a lot of them.

I really like Mad Men, The Good Wife, and all the Masterpiece Theater shows, especially Downton Abbey. I love the History Channel, but they have dumbed that down too, and those shows are the ones that are on constantly.

I forgot Prime Suspect which I really like and it was quickly canceled. And shows like Fear Factor stay on. No accounting for taste.

Another one that is canned is Unforgettable.

There are so few good shows on, it's nice to really find ones that we like. We're into Missing right now, with Ashley Judd.
I hope it lasts.....so far it's riveting.

Once Upon a Time is NOT in danger of cancellation. It is doing well. I didn't watch Gifted Man, so I can't comment, but I did like Prime Suspect.

I don't think OUAT is in danger, I just mentioned it being another of our favourites.

It is sad... but after Windfall was cancelled a couple years ago just when I was getting interested in it I kind of gave up on the dramas. Seems most get cancelled. I watch a few sitcoms and Glee.. the rest are reality shows. American Idol, The Bachelor/Bachelorette, Celebrity Apprentice, TLC, History Channel and HGTV stuff.

Well now I'm really mad. I love the Good Wife. I must not be in the swing of things since if I like it, it's the curse of death for the show. I loved Brothers And Sisters too and it's gone. Only reality junk left, although I do love Amazing Race and Survivor. Thanks for the link.

I had a suspicion that A Gifted Man would be cancelled. At least the final episode worked as a season/series finale. TV has been dumbed down to accommodate the needs (or lack thereof) of people who must text, talk on their cell phones etc. etc. rather than just watch a show) - and it has been going on for years. Unfortunately, being nearly 62 I can remember TV shows that were worth watching. I especially liked the BBC crime series such as Prime Suspect with Helen Mirren, Wire in the Blood etc. And when sitcoms were funny - not the stuff they toss out today - none of which I have ever watched. I also do not care for the so-called reality shows or any of the Idol/Dancing shows - doesn't leave me with much and since I am Cdn. I am obviously paying way too much for TV. Re The Good Wife - I do watch it - I thought it had been renewed? Hopefully. Blue Bloods was and I was kind of surprised - not the best vehicle for Tom Selleck in my opinion. I watched the 2 hour season finale of Alcatraz -they wasted the opportunity to have a decent show - who knows if it will be back. Unforgettable was kind of forgettable for me - could have been better written. We watched Tinker, Tailor the other night - good thing that we had read the books and watched the 1979 BBC mini series otherwise we would have been somewhat lost - at least we knew who George was. I think books such as Tinker, Tailor are better left to mini series - too much ground to cover in a movie.

I think I should add to the "You know you are old when..." thread with ...network situation comedies haven't been funny to you for at least two decades.

I find comedies unfunny as well with the exception of Modern Family. I don't watch daytime TV but do record the Nate Berkus show which I like a lot. Now that's been cancelled.

I never had the chance to see the British version of Prime Suspect - but I did hear it was quite good.

I really enjoy the Good Wife -but they have gone out of their way to screw it up this year on Sunday night. I always watch it from the DVR - and twice I have missed it because of sports delays. Many more times I have realized the games ran over so I extended the timer by an hour to catch it. They really can take a show down by putting it on Sunday night.

tvseriesfinale.com, as of March 22, said no verdict has been reached on Unforgettable (I've watched a few episodes, liked them, but then they became boring for me).

I'm glad that Big Bang Theory has been renewed! I'm way past the focus audience group's age bracket, but I still laugh at it (and I'm catching up on previous seasons on DVD from the library).

I also like "Person of Interest" -- some of you might want to test-drive an episode or two of that. It's on CBS.

But there are so many shows still in limbo that it must be contract renegotiation time for the actors ...

Oh please, not The Good Wife. That's one of the really good ones. I also liked A Gifted Man, I'm very disappointed, but not surprised that it's canceled.

We got hooked on Terra Nova and then BOOM! After leaving us with a cliff hanger, we find out it's been canceled. I swear the net work execs who make these decisions have no idea of what people are watching. Some number comes up and they decide it's not good enough. Geesh.

I just learned that Ringer will be cancelled also. It is one of the best shows on TV now--the theme is similar to Revenge, but Ringer is much better than Revenge. I wish the network executives would join the Kitchen Table--they could learn something.

Well....the star in a Gifted Man made $100,000 per episode. Then the episode itself probably cost anywhere from $500,000 to $1,000,000 EACH. That's a lot of money for a studio to put out if viewers aren't watching and advertisers aren't paying to advertise on it.

Unfortunately, it is about the bottom line. And many studios prefer to pull the plug early, rather than continue to pour money down a rat hole and hope for the best. They can't recover those kind of losses if they decide to keep a full 22 episode season at $22-30 million total for no return. Then consider they may have 5 new shows on this season that are underperforming - that's a potential $100 million plus loss in a single year.

If it was your money, you'd probably do the same. The economics of TV today are staggering. There are always people who complain about cancellations, but truthfully - would anyone cancel a profitable success? Sometimes there's a ground swell to bring back a show - Southland was a good example, but you can bet that cable picked it up at a guaranteed reduced budget and reduced numbers of episodes, and that cable fees are helping to subsidize it - something networks don't get.

For those of you who might enjoy reading stories based on your favorite shows, long gone or current, try Fanfiction.net. You'll find fan-written stories that fill in "missing scenes" in episodes or take up where an episode left off, or create an entirely new adventure for the characters.

Much of the writing is, admittedly, amateurish. But some fan writers are really, really good.

Wow! We watched Once Upon a Time on the computer last nite. It was an outstanding episode and featured The Mad Hatter.

The writers should absolutely win awards for this show.

Happy The Good Wife is not cancelled. Once Upon A time is a delicious show. What imagination.

You should blame the right people. You can't blame the network for people not watching the show. Blame the people watching the Duggars, the dancers, Trump and all the other garbage out there. (Oh, I used the "g" word didn't I???) People watching that stuff are the ones who keep it on the air and there's limited slots so the low rated stuff is the logical stuff to go.

And a year is a long time to run a show and gives a program a chance. If there isn't potential showing, it's going to be gone. The standard years ago was 13 episodes. If it didn't make it then, it was gone. Remember Tim Conway's license plate? (13 WKS)

The Big Bang Theory is a show I look forward to watching as is Shark Tank. I've quit watching 2-1/2 Men since Sheen left. Not funny anymore and making Cryer the main character and diluting the "2-1/2 Women" that were such an integral part of the show destroyed it. I watch THIS, MeTV and other stations that run reruns mostly and I watch a lot of movies and stuff on the internet.
