I heard on Good Morning America this morning about a man with 17 wives and up to 80 children. That's 4 or 5 kids per wife! How can he be there for 80 kids? Funny how they DIDN'T bash him for a second. They acted like it was amazing. sheez. It's like they are the National Enquire on the tube.

I'm glad these 8 babies will be getting some extra care and loving.

I often have 16 to 18 youngsters at a time during the day. Organization is key! AND I get to send them home at 3:15.

The guy with the 17 wives is from Dubai. He is 63 years old and his goal is to have 100 children. Oh my!

Now that's a lot of Viagra!

Why do you think an indigent, whose priority is mass motherhood, has already had around $25,000 of cosmetic surgery, anyway? Who do you really think was meant to be seeing it? But seeing who(what) she has spent so far, these kids are going to be put to begging as soon as they learn how to say please.

If people want to financially support Nadya Suleman, why shouldn't they? I heard her father say it won't be public money. So if it is private and the hospital bill is paid-- which likely some TV network did already--then it will be long-term up to child protective services to monitor how competent -ha- Nadya Suleman is going to be.

She's going to be in the news for the next 18 years. But she's already shown ANYONE in any contract situation how toxic she is to do money with. It's not like they haven't had fair warning. Probably the way this ends up is Nadya is declared legally incompetent - all those 14 nurses will be watching her - and her parents get conservatorship.
THEN is when they sue the doctor and settle out of court for what must be any malpractice lawyer's ultimate nightmare. Millions and millions. And then more from the coverage on that.

I suspect she had illusions of a bigger and finer home than that one...Guess she has had to settle on that one..

If she already has "millions" as kayjones suggests,why would she buy that house and not a bigger,more expensive one? I don't know what she has or how much or what she has been paid for.Maybe she is finally seeing reality. I am just glad that the powers that be are watching her and keeping tabs on the babies and that she has finally accepted help when they come home.She is going to need it!

Because "she" is not buying this house her father is. She is going to do to him what she did to her mother after she bought her the house they live in now and not pay a dime for it.

I don't think any of us know the Real story so I am inclined to believe only what I have seen with my own eyes or heard from her mouth.One thing though,I don't think she will be getting welfare or food stamps in the near future if she is raking in the money everyone says she is.As I said before,I am glad she is getting help with her babies and wish the best for all of her family.If there are people out there that are kindhearted enough to help her,financially or in some other way,that's great too!

Imagine having her as your new neighbor? I really love kids, especially my own :), imagine the noise level..arrgh.

These 8 babies as well as the 6 siblings at home did not ASK to be born into this and SADLY they are the ones that are and will suffer from words and actions when the anger and hositility should be directed to the mother and only the mother!

It is a humble thing for the grandfather to provide a home...but how many years can he provide? He is NOT at an age that he can "foot" the bill for a 30 year mortgage. "Octomom" is not employed nor does she project gainful employment...totally absurd and unacceptable in today's economic realism.

IMHO...........Octomom needs to accept TOTAL responsibility for HER decison and actions. I am sure a TV Reality show was in her dreams......I think "Octomom" has now realized there is no such thing as a "free lunch"!!

It is my understanding from the articles above and others and from the Dr. Phil show today (although I didn't see all of it) that the dad didn't buy the house.She bought it with money she has received since all this started.
Dr. Phil made it very clear that he (Dr.Phil) had nothing to do with the purchase of the house and that he DID NOT buy it for her and didn't consult with her about buying it.LOL Evidently there were rumors to that effect.I just hope she will be able to afford to pay the bills for such a big house.

The house is 30 years old and modestly priced for the area.

There goes the quiet cul De Sac neighborhood and parking when all of the nurses and helpers are there 24/7, besides the family. I certainly would not welcome being neighbors to all the hoopla that will go on in the years to come.

That house is very cloe to where my hubby works. He said it's really annoying with all the helicopters flying around all day long.
That would get old to me if I had to live there.

No, Sue, it is not just you! I cannot understand her... seems to mumble and has a strange accent. I found myself hoping for subtitles! I could not stand to watch all of Dr phil although I did watch a few minutes.

How could her dad buy it? He stated on one of the interviews he didn't have a $100 to his name.

He got a decorator to outfit her new nursery, new floorings throughout.
She did good by being his friend! (Insert sarcasm here)

I just had Dr. Phil on, with her, and was hearing about all the stuff she's getting. When they got to the woman who is going to outfit the nursery with all free stuff, I just had enough and changed channels. This woman intentionally got herself into this situation, knew that she is already an intentionally single intention mom of 6, then intentionally went to the dr. and got herself implanted for more. GRRRRRR!!!!! It's not like she's a "poor soul" who, thru no fault of her own, found herself in this desperate situation. She knew exactly what she was doing!

I don't hold it against the kids, for sure. It's a tough thing - I don't want to deny the 14 kids, but this woman is a nutjob who is getting all kinds of free stuff and attention for getting into this fix, on purpose!

Pretty soon there will be a tv show called Me and the kids starring . . . . .

And, the poor neighbors having to put up with all the hoopla on a daily basis will be wanting to move and won't get diddly crap for their homes now. No one will want to move in and be neighbors with this family.

This whole subject drives me batty. This woman has been and will continue to be a stay at home mom on the backs of women who so deeply wish THEY could be stay at home moms but have to work - and pay the taxes that will be used for her to be a stay at home mom.

Drives me batty/nuts and infuriates me to a really unreasonable degree. I was a stay at home mom but we did without so I could be. When I did go back to work, I worked with many a mom who used to be near tears for having to work when they SO wished they could be a stay at home mom. Today's world hardly affords that for mothers or their children - there is very little choice left in the matter.

Unless you figure out how to get the other mom to pay for it.

This woman is supposed to be taking courses to become a mental health expert. Can you imagine anyone taking advice about handling life's problems from this private and public leech?

I suspect that this story will continue with a sad future for those children, regardless of how mom pays or doesn't pay for their upbringing. I suspect that the sad story began with the birth of the first.

Everyone around here talks about her having plastic surgery (and fake fingernails) and where did the money come from?

My big concern is who the heck was caring for the six children while she had all this stuff done? Who was caring for them while she was in the hospital on strict bedrest for weeks and weeks while in the later stage of pregnancy? Who cares for them while she is at the hospital, holding each infant for 30 miinutes and at her attorney's office and at her publicity agent's office and giving out interviews etc and house hunting and agent interviewing ad nauseum?

Who is stuck with doing the actual boring, dirty, exhausting, demanding and necessary job of raising the six already at home and needing constant care and total attention that this parasitic parent created? I sure do wish that if the media is going to focus on this woman, this is the question they would keep asking. This woman deliberately created them but doesn't seem to feel the need to assume the 24 hour, around the clock care for them. Somebody (her poor mother?)is obviously is stuck with that end of things, SOMEBODY has to be.

It's a disgrace. The feeling of entitlement this woman holds for everything she feels she should be given (including the daily care for her children) is astounding and quite frightening to me.

mylab, it's the grandmother (and a good part the grandfather) that has been doing those things you questioned. Nadya's parent(s). You remember - in the dysfunctional childhood she says she had. So her childhood was so dysfunctional that it resulted in her own mental and behavioral issues (said by her), yet she is having the same people do the lion's share of raising her own kids.
