Landline is what we use about 95 percent of the time. Our cellphones are prepaid and we just use them when we are out.

I mostly use my cell phone but wouldn't be without a land line. The corded kind. No walk-arounds allowed in my house.

Cell service is simply not as reliable. When I need to make a long involved call I don't have to worry that the land line will drop it. It also takes longer to connect with 911 on a cell phone no matter what they say.

Even though a land line can be tapped it's not as easy. I don't trust the encryption on cell phones. Privacy is a big issue for me. Banking and credit card calls are made on my land line.

I use a cheap long distance service. Living on the west coast most cell phone anytime minutes don't do much good since they kick in so late.

I use my land line attached to my answering machine to screen calls. Businesses get my land line number, close friends get my cell and are put in as contacts so I know whose calling. I don't bother with caller ID.

Land line with internet and cell phones for long distance and kids. All but DS are on the same carrier. We have cordless and wired in the house. Any personal info calls should be made on a wired phone, not a cordless. Cordless also don't work when the electric is down & sometimes cells don't either. A wired phone in the house will work without power as long as the phone lines are not down.

Just a cell for me. When I moved to Iowa two years ago, I decided to try just the cell and see how it went. No need for a land line. I am in the citizen's police academy now and the officers say in my city when you dial 911 on a cell it goes right into the city police dispatchers and they can pretty much pinpoint where you are.

Cell phone only. Couldn't see spending $40 per month on something that I would hardly use.

Cells only. No landline for over a year. Can see no reason for both. They put the landline # that we'd had for 39 yrs. on my cell, so we never miss a call. DH has his own # for his buddies and business associates. We've had no trouble at all. Have a charger in the car and in the bedroom. No problem, have saved a lot of money and highly recommend it.

Landline with one corded phone and 2 cordless. Also need it for DSL. And when we lose power during the winter. At least the corded phone will still work without electricity. No cell phones at all! No cell phone towers this far up the mountain. And too many ridges and valleys between us the towers in town.

We have a landline. We only use the c/p when we're out. Actually, DH never uses his cell.

I have a cordless phone and my SIL gave me a landline corded phone for when the power goes out. LOL The corded phone is coming in handy because the battery on my cordless needs replacing and I end up switching phones in mid conversation.

If I need to make a private call like when my sister gives me her telephone banking information for me to do her banking for her when she is away in St. Louis or when she wants me to order something for her online I make sure we are both using corded phones when she gives me that info. I used to have a police scanner which picked up the calls whenever my neighbours used their cordless phone. I know the newer cordless phones can scramble the calls so they can't be picked up but I don't trust them. Banks use corded landline phones for that reason.

I only had one phone jack in my house until this past summer which was a pain in the butt. Now I have one in the living room which means no more phone cord running across the kitchen and living room floor to connect my Webtv.

3 corded landlines (2 numbers) with 4 walkarounds. Don't want to lose the phone when the power is out. 2 cells.

Landline. Have cell phone for the car, only for emergencies and it died (Tracfone new cheap phone they sent me). So, got one last week to replace it and it's dead now too. I was pretty nervous driving home last night without a working phone.

Landline in my house, five phones (including extensions in bedrooms,etc) plus four cell phones, one family plan. Each person has their own cell phone. No excuses for staying out late and not calling!

Hubby has a cell, but I don't.

I have a land line which I use most of the time for local calls. Also have a cell phone but I don't use it much as I have a inexpensive rate that gives me only 1 hr and 10 min. of free long distance. The only reason I got the cell it is to have in my car in case of car trouble.

I still have my Landline, which I will keep, because it was my Mom and Dad's number for 35 years. I don't want to loose touch with friends and family who still have that number.

There are two cell phones and we use them most of the time.
