A few projects need some advice

I have a new structure (garden shed/lean to type structure) that has some bifold closet doors on the front for a cottage look. Will any exterior paint work to "seal" this wood to keep it from breaking down? I realize that this wont last forever, as it was not intended for this purpose, but I'd like to preserve it as best as possible.

Secondly, I am going to repaint my deck and I purchased a product that has the primer in it. It's advertsied specifically for the use as a deck paint. It says that ONE coat is enough. Is ONE coat really enough?

The other things I need to paint include some type of wooden lattice, which is a booger to paint, does anyone have any tips to make this easier?

Final question, is for the deck, I"d really like to use some type of sprayer or at very least a long handled roller, are there any products you all could recommend that would make the job a bit easier? Previous times, I've gotten on my hands and knees and used a brush...Cant do that again.
