Somewhere along lake Erie. I really liked the area when I was on my cross country bike ride.

Thanks for letting me off the hook with that darn cleaning week. ;)

Moni

Right where I am, :)

Sue

I like it here.

Alternatively ... Hawaii, possibly.

When, after grad. from univ., Sue came on a passenger ship to Japan, after spending a day in Hawaii, she said that that was where she wanted to retire.

On our return to Canada on furlough, with Bruce, who was 20 mos. at the time, we spent another day there.

After taking early retirement from her position as head of food service at a substantial hosp. (when there was talk of closing it) she stayed in her home at that time for the remainder of her life - another 10 years - and spent from Christmas till March travelling from FL to TX in her RV ... but didn't return to Hawaii, that I was aware of.

Good wishes for living where it suits you.

ole joyful

I would like to live on a beach in a small, older beach house/cottage, where it's warm and always has a breeze. Not a deserted beach, though, I like having the noises of happy beach-goers in my ears. And I'd like to be close to shopping because all that fresh air makes me really hungry.

I would like to live in North Carolina.

I live on Lake Erie, Moni. It does have it's bright side :)

On Mount Desert Island in Maine or upper Maine on a lake.

George Jetson's house. It'd be nice to have all the not-so-fun stuff done for me (cleaning, getting dressed, etc.) and have time for shopping and buzzing around in those little flying cars.

I've never been to many places..could count them on one hand. My visits to the mountains have always brought me joy, just haven't seen too many of them and really know nothing of the United States, travel wise.

I've always, always dreamed of going to Italy, so that's my answer.

Terry Pratchett's Discworld.

Wyoming! Stacy

Hawaii.

Ireland - if my family went back with me.

I have a few ideas, one is more plausible than the other: I'd like to "retire" to Wyoming in the Spring and Summer. Work somewhere in Yellowstone. In the Fall and Winter I would live in Tuscon, AZ.

Other, move back to Germany, near the Mosel River. Highly unlikely, though. I would have to get a job with the U.S. government and work on a base for that to happen. I know a nurse I work with now is applying for a position on an Army base over there. My kids, though, don't want to leave KY.

Owensboro, KY

London...in an old, wonderfully renovated townhouse.

NYC...in an old, wonderfully renovated-to-be-modern, loft apartment.

San Francisco...in an old, wonderfully renovated-to-be-modern, wharf-view condo.

Barcelona...anywhere safe and slightly modern.

I think I'll go live down the road from Flamingo. I would need to be close to the ocean, in a small town where there are all kinds of unique shops, a bookstore, and a good food shop. The ideal house is Diane Keaton's house in "Something's Gotta Give".

Id stay right here in Tyler, Tx but would love a condo in Colorado and a beach house in Gulf Shores, Al or Destin, Fl. Actually, enough money to travel to all those places but come home to my children and grands, and my BFFs. The best of all worlds.

Italy.

Would love the mountains during summer months, and FL on the beach during winter months.

In a piney woods in the Ozarks or almost anywhere in Oregon.
