" We eat all we can and we sell the rest"
" Bluebell the best ice cream in the country"

When we lived in Austin we were hooked. Yes it is that good. A trip to the creamery in Brenham, Texas is small town fun.

Now that we have moved to the midwest, I miss it.

I'm not a big ice cream eater but I buy blue bell when I do. It's pretty dang good.

My favorite ice cream is Breyers All Natural. I don't want anything in my ice cream I can't pronounce. LOL I'm not sure we can get Blue Bell here. I'll have to look for it though, and see if I can try some..I do like Tillamook, if I need a "non" natural flavored icecream though..

I don't think I've seen it here in northern VA. I usually buy Turkey Hill Philadelphia-style or Breyer's. I don't think Breyer's puts as many pecans in their butter pecan anymore, though, and they used to make a toasted almond that I can't find anymore. Of course, I can toast my own almonds . . .

I used to live in Houston and Austin, and Brenham is right in between - so I have been to the creamery quite a few times.

In California I buy Breyer's Natural Vanilla (lactose free). My favorite additions to it are Frangelico and Amaretto.

I'm in Houston and it's the only ice creamed allowed in the house according to my family. I'm not a huge ice cream fan, but I don't think you can beat it. They come up with some great flavors (usually for limited time only) throughout the year among their always very good standard flavors. They keep the peace in my house with their "Great Divide" - 1/2 chocolate & 1/2 vanilla in the same tub. My nephew just told me last night that they have a blackberry cobbler one out right now that is, in his words, "AWESOME!". I haven't tried it yet. Their "anniversary cake" that was out during the summer was incredible - pieces of cake in the ice cream, really good. They had a cantaloupe flavor too, but we didn't try it, sounded interesting though. I'm not sure how far north they go. Any time you are in Texas, you should try it.

We can get Blue Bell here in Central Florida. The cookies and cream flavor is delicious! I like Breyer's vanilla too, it's tastes very natural and I love the vanilla bean specks.

I've never had the pleasure of trying Bluebell but I have had Breyer's. I actually prefer Haagen Dazs, when I allow my self that many calories!

Breyers is okay, but they don't have the flavors I like. Why don't they make a plain chocolate chip? Why do they have to put mint in it?

Blue Bell is definately the best as far as I'm concerned. Tin Roof Sundae is my favorite flavor, but it's hard to find, as it's one of the limited flavors that's only occasionally available. Their chocolate chip is good, as well as their Natural Vanilla Bean, which is DH's favorite. It has those little flecks of vanilla in it, too. Mmmm, it's sounding better and better all the time. We don't eat nearly as much icecream as we used to, due to the calories.

I rarely eat ice cream, but we keep Blue Bell in the freezer at all times. We like it much better than even those really expensive brands. When Blue Bell was first introduced here they had several different kind of cobbler pie flavors such as apple and peach. There was pastry in them and I really did like those. I can't find those here anymore so DH and others in the family are the only ones that eat any ice cream here.

sally, breyer's makes a plain chocolate chip. i have half gallon in my freezer right now and sent my son home with one as well.

i got a coupon for a free half gallon of blue bell so i'll have to check and see if it is available in our local markets. if not this coupon will be up for grabs if anyone is interested. it expires the end of november.

i just looked at their web site, you can order, but i'm not paying $89.00 for ice cream. (can't remember how much you have to order at this point). i like breyers or home made. i boycott edies, so i don't know what that tastes like, haagen daaz i've eaten on occasion, but only those ultra decadant vanilla ice cream bars covered in dark chocolate which are a real treat and not for regular consumption.

on colamecco's food show this morning, a segment was a tour of an ice cream factory in hawaii. they produced some interesting flavors as well and the woman interviewed said that now with companies coming out with slow churned or extra creamy, that's what they always were.

I am in NY and we can get it..for about 2 years now. It is really delicious. Right up there with the best, imho, ie!

I used Breyers until I moved. Now I use Hershey's.
It's good enough for me.

Maryanne: What are you doing there , worrying about Ice Cream ??? You are supposed to be here.
Now I have a freezer full of goodies.

Bruester's key lime pie! Yummy!

I'm in Austin, Texas and we have it here--probably the most popular. It's very good.

We have Double Rainbow here close to San Francisco. My fave! I've never had Blue Bell. But I'm an equal opportunity ice cream eater.

Here is a link that might be useful: Double Rainbow

We get Blue Bell here in Arizona and it is a favorite at our house. We're still waiting for the Blackberry, but haven't seen it. Bettye/AZ

We get Bluebell here...but according to my husband, it doesn't come close to Edy's or Breyer's! I am no ice cream connoisseur, but I like it, there are
quite a few flavors other brands don't have!

Maybe it's because I live in Texas, the home state of Bluebell, but I've only seen about 3 or 4 flavors of Breyers available, none of which were plain chocolate chip. I'll have to look again, since I haven't even looked at the Breyer's display in a long time. DH really loved Breyer's Cherry Vanilla. I can't handle frozen fruit in my ice cream, so any fruit flavored ice cream is not for me, but he loves them.
