I have a pop up blocker but I am also finding that peoples posts along one side are completely being covered by ad's.

Try adding YesScript.
I've never had a pop-up or banner since I installed it.

I have firefox and adblock plus. Never see an ad.

Is there a new background and format going on, as well? When did the change take place?

Oops - not Pop Up ads blocking my posts, it's just the general everyday ads that run down the side of the screen on GW that are going right over GW Members posts. I'll have to chenck this out on my home computer too and see if it's just this computer or both.

No popups or ads for me either!

I don't mind ads along the top or sides of pages. My mind can block them out pretty well. But iVillage has a problem here in that some ads, on some posts, cover part of the post and cannot be turned off. That's a problem on their end that they need to address. I also saw one post where the message text runs off the right side of the message area. Due to large photos in the post perhaps?

Must only be my work computer. Not having the problem of text and ad's running together at home.

It's happening to me, too - I have a Mac, and the overlapping of the regular ads is happening randomly.
The only pop-up that keeps appearing is that durn thing for the TV show, and that seems to show up randomly, too.

My issue is what rosestink mentioned, that there is no way to *close* some of the ads that overlap the text!!! Could NOT read major parts of a post...this not ok.

I have read so many times on here to download Adblock Plus. I finally took the 30 seconds to do so. What took me so long?

Bronwynsmom, for safari (mac, not ipad) try glimmerblocker. It installs as a pane in system preferences so no problems when there's a safari update.
