Thanks so much to all for your comments! I'm still excited to get these little roses! And hoping that we might be able to tease their roots apart when we remove them from the tiny pots, if multiples are what we do have in each of the six little pots. (No wonder each pot's rose looks so extremely full of leaves!) We'll figure on an intermediate step of putting them into their own individual pots to develop a larger root system before placing them in the ground. After all the losses to RRD, it's good to have some new roses that are safely away from the potential RRD-infected roses here. If some do make it in their individual pots we'll be sticking them into the ground to use as an edging--put them right next to the wood that holds up our landscaped planter, so we won't have encroaching plants from every side. We might also put one or two of the new miniatures, if they mostly do make it, into some attractive little pots for another area, though the area for pots gets less sun (maybe 5 hours of direct sunlight on July 4). Thanks to all. Greenthumbfish, I saw that stencil at Hobby Lobby. I ended up passing on it because the repeat on the pattern was so small. I was afraid it might end up too busy. I wish they would have made a bigger stencil! Parma, I agree with you 100%. I think that day, my stiff upper lip was already starting to quiver b/c of the rest of the chaos I was having to be so strong about. Handling critique and suggestions (albeit harmless and trying to be helpful) that I had not solicited was just more than I could stand, especially when I thought I was pretty clear on the nature of the post. Again, it had nothing to do with the comments, and everything to do with the timing. Sometimes you just can't hear how you can be "better", especially when as you explained, "better" is so subjective to personal style. I will remember your words, though, and will make sure to laugh at myself as I count my accessories! Puna, I have to say I'm pretty dismayed as well. For the life of me, I can't figure out how removing those comments was necessary or helpful. (Yours and several others, including some of mine!) Ugh. LaFonda, yes, my stomach went into knots when the property manager called and said I needed to get over there immediately because water was "everywhere". I thought he was exaggerating. He wasn't. Ugh again. Joanie, I don't think I'll stop, but I think I may definitely change how I post photos. This post has served as very clear reminder of how some people think, and knowing I can't change that, all I can do is change how much of it I set myself up for. Patty, you got the whole point of the post; I was delighted to find something so pretty when I was going through something so horrid. Thanks for "getting it."

What a beautiful child! I'm so glad you posted her pictures; it's fun to watch her grow up. You and Natalie and so blessed to have such a special relationship, and I hope she will continue to learn quilting from her talented grandmother. Thanks for sharing!

Love the tapestry idea! I searched for one a few years back, but could never find one that didn't look cheesy. (It seemed that all of the ones in my budget were the mass-produced sort that just looked like a Wal-Mart throw pillow stretched out!) It seems the *good* looking ones, aged, patinaed, and slightly worn are thousands. I'll have to renew that search. You're right Les, that everything looks smooth in the pic. In real life, though, without the flash washing things out, the wall is *heavily* textured in a sort of hand-troweled plaster look, and the chair is a tweed-type fabric. It almost looks like burlap. Or is the general appearance that seems smooth? Like it just needs more color/balance/texture in general? DH wants an oil painting. DH however would burst at the seams if I actually bought an oil painting. (I don't think he has any idea just how much they can run!) THottie, I never did a thing to the chairs in my den. They're in a room that is used mainly for kids; Wii playing, videos, plopping down after swimming, etc. They're so perfect as-is! Nothing can hurt them. The leather is such good shape, and it's impervious to the spilled Cokes, ground up Cheezits, and wet chlorine derrieres! Since I'm going to Charleston with my mom in a couple of weeks, I'll keep my eyes peeled for something that might work.
