Counter or Bar Height, Which Will Look Better?

Hello All,

I am having a wall removed and a bar installed between my living room and kitchen. I wanted opinions on what height would be better. I thought bar height would be better since it would make the bar seem like its own little area, but now that they have taken the wall down, I am a little worried that bar height may be a bit too tall, and that I should have gone with counter height. I am using a granite slab for the bar area which is a completely different color from kitchen countertops. Any opinions?

Pictures of the wall and a post that I did can be found here.

Sorry I posted it on HGTV before I found gardenweb.
