just curious- how do others feel about this woman

I saw this in the news.

A former military woman is being called back tofinish her 4 years of duty. The case is a bit complicated.

1. She signed on for 4 years with the Army.

2. She met her 'future' husband while enlisted. They got

married while both in the Army.

3. She got pregnant while in the Army- the Army covered

both her medical bills and the infant.

4. At some point- she was honorably discharged from the

Army- knowing that at any time she could be called

back into the Army to finish her 4 years.

5. Now is is called back- but has refused on the grounds that she has 2 children- a husband who's job involves traveling, so he cannot care for the kids. Both her and his parents are alive and well- one set fairly close- a couple hundred miles or less, the other farther- about 1000 miles.

What do you think she should do?

Report back to the Army- she knew that there would be a chance that she would be called back.

Continue to refuse to report back- after all, she now has 2 kids.

Is she obligated to finish her 4 years?

Did the US lose alot of money on her- training for the military, then medical bills and maternity leave, the loss of an Army person who did not fullfill her contract and now the had to recruit someone to fill her position.

I am just asking- there was a pretty heated discussion about this in the coffee shop today. Some of the people were men, some women that were discussing this.

What do you think is right?
