Actually I have several favorite breakfasts, sorry ladies, neither one of the 2 below is low cal, but not real bad. 1. Chipped beef on browned toast with a pad of butter quartered around the plate before you put the broken up toast down (or homemade biscuits, rare) and then the chipped beef gravy, top this off with some ground pepper just a small touch of cinnamon. 2. Two buttermilk pancakes (with real butter) on the first and top one, with some quality sage sausage (link or patty, local butcher) on the side, and two over easy eggs on the top of the pancakes with a little fine ground pepper on top of eggs! I cut this all up in a checkerboard pattern from the eggs down, somewhat neatly, eat the top layer with the eggs and 1/2 the sausage, then put maple syrup on the second layer and eat it with the other 1/2 sausage! This with 2 cups of good coffee, Absolutely AWESOME! From reading this you would think I am enormous but actually I limit myself to once a week usually Sunday unless I'm going out for breakfast. I'm 6' and 210 to 220lbs appropriately proportioned. I had this breakfast at a local restaurant that was watched by others and requested so often (can I have what he's having) that it is now on there menu! Quite a compliment. Great post boy the way, breakfast is my favorite meal.

B: 1 egg, 2 egg whites, deli salsa, grilled corn omelet, coffee S: coffee and a granola lemon bar (my friend was an HOUR late-grrrrr-so I got hungry and chose the most healthy thing I could find in the coffee shop case; what a waste of calories!) L: 1 cup cottage cheese mixed with finely diced tomatoes, green onions, cilantro, and spicy spices S: 10 pretzels D: Taco salad: 1/3 c refried beans, 1/8 c. shredded cheese, lot of shredded lettuce, tomato, ¼ c cottage cheese, salsa, 120 cal worth of baked chips on top. S: Arg. Lays Baked BBQ chips, 2 handfuls, and a ½ c of fritos. I hate having chips in the househate it! Salty snacks call to me. S to redeem myself: one red delicious apple. ----------------------- Marci~ It must have been the moon or something. I went on a snack hunt as well yesterday. Did some damage, but am back on track today. ...That's a cool pic you took, but I can see the damage the algae does. It's sounds like a nightmare to try and get rid of! Do you guys get ticketed if you don't take care of the noxious weeds? I have some property up north and if I don't clear the Canadian Thistle every spring, the fines start! The county fines people a 100 or more dollars a day for noxious weed spread. Now that's motivation to do yard work, eh? Needless to say, I've never gotten fined. We're expected to have a hella wind storm tonight. Remember last year when we were out of power for days? They're saying this one won't be as bad. That was a 10 and this is supposed to be a 7. I'm bringing in wood today and getting the candle and flashlights ready. And we're all sleeping downstairs tonight. There are 200 foot trees next to my house and they DO fall occasionally! If I'm not on tomorrow, it'll be because I have no power! Short story: Yesterday, my DD in college called me. She says, "Mom, I have a problem..." Well, I am thinking the worst, but then she tells me that she's babysitting a friend's offspring and that the baby has been crying for 40 minutes. I can hear the baby on her shoulder crying its heart out. 10 minutes later, we finally got the baby quiet--air in tummy or overstimulated; I'm not sure. Dimly lit room and some pats on the back, pressure on the tummy, etc---but talking my DD through that baby's crying spell gave me the strangest feeling. Now I know how my mom felt when I called her with my colicy babies! It's tough not to BE there to help! Is Raeanne on her wine tour in CA already? And where's Maddie? Patti? Tikanas? JOHN???????? I was checking out who had it online the other day and while you might not want 6 bottles of it.. smiles... Amazon has 6 bottles for $27.05. It's free shipping too. Most places sell it for between five and six or up to eight dollars, so that's a great price. They say they're 15 oz bottles. Maybe somebody else would want to go in on it with you?? I've always heard of it described as a mayo with more vinegar and also with a mustard taste. Sounds good. Smiles. My DW used it when she used to travel to the UK all the time for buisness. Surprised she didn't bring any back. I have a head of savoy cabbage so I'm going to make my easy 'stuffed' cabbage casserole that I described above. It makes it so easy and quick which is just what we want on a Saturday night. Steam the cabbage briefly, layer it with dirty rice, pour some tomato juice mixed with onion and garlic powder between layers and on top and bake for about 40 minutes. I'll see if I can manage to take a picture. I seem to be terrible at that. The camera is always in the other room and it's a kind of big house and by the time I'm done cooking I'm not walking very well. LOL.. We will see. Oh btw, I always make two dishes of this because Christy gets burnt out on "red" since I always have something made with red sauce around I make her a version with just some broth on it. I do stuffed peppers for her the same way. No red. I do love the red on it but prefer tomato juice since it's nice and light although I'll just water down tomato sauce or puree with chicken stock/broth, if I don't have any handy.

Party_music, here is the recipe. It is from the Robin Hood Flour website. Apple Cranberry Muffins Like most recipes, even using the first time I made minor adjustments. Adding a little salt and vanilla and subbing some sour cream for some of the yogurt. Source: Robin Hood Flour With some minor adjustments. Topping ¼ cup brown sugar, packed ¼ cup almonds, chopped 3 tbsp Robin Hood® Oats ½ tsp cinnamon pinch salt 1 tbsp Butter Muffins 2¼ cups Robin Hood Original All Purpose Flour 1 cup packed brown sugar 1 tsp baking soda 1/4 teaspoon salt 1 egg 1 cup plain yogurt 1/2 cup sour cream 1/3 cup melted butter 2 teaspoons vanilla 2 cups peeled and diced apples ¾ cup cranberries, fresh or frozen Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease or line 15 muffin cups with paper liners. Topping: Combine all ingredients. Mix well in a small bowl. Set aside. Muffins: Combine flour, brown sugar and baking soda, salt in large bowl. Whisk egg, yogurt, sour cream , vanilla and melted butter in medium bowl. Add to flour mixture, stirring just until moistened. Stir in apples and cranberries. Fill prepared muffin cups with batter. Sprinkle with topping. Bake in preheated oven for 20 to 25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in centre of muffin comes out clean.
