Yep, we saw it, too, and had the same reaction. The networks don't know when to stop tinkering with a good thing. America's Got Talent is a "family" show. Howard Stern is the polar opposite.

I think Howard Stern will be a great judge. He is a smart businessman and has been in the business a very long time and knows what it takes to make it.

I think many people are assuming that his radio persona is the real Howard Stern. Years ago when I was on a steering committee for a fundraiser we contacted a list of celebrities for donations (they had to put something on a printout of a Cheshire cat - could be an autograph, picture, whatever). Not only was Howard Stern the first to respond but he submitted one of the most detailed and artistic donations which raised a lot of money for our cause (disabled young adults).

That's great that he did that and he may be a good guy, but he has gone out of his way to be seen as a pig. I can't stand him. And I won't watch or listen to him.

Shocking smut?

I think Howard's radio fans were 'into' listening to his smut, just as Jerry Springer's TV audience enjoyed his TV smut.

I'll not be watching Howard, and I doubt if his smut loving radio fan base will watch him on tv, since he will most likely have to clean up his smuttiness.

Again, another TV show digging up the dregs from the bottom of the barrel for their TV show. DWTS did it, AI did it. It seems like the standards of some of the American people just keep slipping. Sad.

I never watched the show anyway, but I think Howard will be great. He's a super funny guy, very quick-witted and sharp. Of course he will have to clean it up for the family hour. But I do understand the aversion to him.

I'm guessing most of you have never listened to Howard Stern. He's a very interesting radio host and an intelligent business man. I hate to break it to you all but the label he has was made by THE MEDIA!!! He's been innovative in radio for a long time and he's willing to discuss controversial topics. Yeah, there may be some inappropriate conversations but it's usually the guest that initiates them.

Howard Stern has been fined by the FCC for playing clips from Oprah's show (on teen sex) yet Oprah wasn't fined for the same thing. While he may talk about sex, he's not promoting casual sex. He talks about things we ALL talk about; he just does it on the air (and gets fined for doing so).

If you look at the current line up of judges on the show, you have Piers Morgan and Steven Tyler along with Sharon Osborne. Steven Tyler is a rock star known for herion and alcohol addictions, sleeping with all kinds of people and probably can't punch his way out of a paper bag. Piers Morgan was involved in the phone hacking scandal in England and has a pretty low track record when it comes to moral issues. Sharon Osborne is qualified to just talent? How? She's married to Ozzy so that makes her a qualified judge? I don't know if Howie is still on the show but his history is pretty sketchy too.

Can you explain to me how these people are better qualified to judge talent than Howard Stern? I'm not saying you have to like the guy but I think he's going to be a better judge of what constitutes talent than the current line up of judges.

While I don't particularly like Stern's brand, he often makes appearances on Letterman and is intelligent and pleasant. He is a huge animal person ,so he can't be all bad. I'll still watch. I like that show.

I only "watched"... not listened ...to his show ONCE on late night TV... I have no idea why, but the TV version was just a live recording of his radio show...sorta like they used to do with Don Imus in the morning. SMUT is the correct term. PORN would also work. Not even gonna tune in. Tired of nothing on TV being able to be watched as a family.

We probably won't be watching it but it isn't just because of Howard Stern, tho that is a contribution, I'm sort of tired of it. I was fully disgusted with Piers Morgan's behavior so I am glad he's going.
