Didn't there used to be GIF and Jiffy peanut butter?

Just be careful not to buy any "iffy" peanut butter these days!!

There is no mention of that on their website with other company facts/history.

But in my quick search, I come across many people who seem to say "Jiffy" when they mean the brand name "Jif." There is sometimes even a picture of a jar of "Jif" next to the words "Jiffy recipe." My DH and his mother call it "Jiffy." But then again, she says "warsh" the dishes and plants "armadillo" bulbs in the garden. Probably not a reliable source. ;o) Maybe you've just heard a lot of people use the wrong name.

Either way, I don't think you're insane. I would need more evidence for that. ;o)

I recall Jiffy cake mixes and Jiffy-Pop, But don't recall a Jiffy peanut butter unless you mix Jif and Skippy, then you'd have Jiffy.

Poohbear, I don't remember a GIF peanut butter at all. Only just the Jif. My memory is HORRIBLE though.

Cynic, I think I must have mixed them up some how. I forgot about those things, maybe that is why I am thinking Jiffy?

Danihoney, I think that is what I am doing, confusing the two. Or I was thinking that maybe since there is a SKIPPY that I just took Jif to Jiffy?

Since you asked, when MIL plants armadillo bulbs, she gets what the rest of us call amaryllis. We love her, so it's just something to tease her with. In the dictionary under misanthrope... yeah, MIL.

I saw that as well Minnie. Skippy is ok too. I still think sales are down. Skippy has been on sale for $1.25 at my local Meijer store for the last 2 weeks. And one week I had a $.40 cent coupon that was doubled! Peanut butter for 45 cents!!!! :)
