2 piece molds that look like nuts

I've had these molds on my Amazon Wish List for almost 5 years now and they don't even carry them any more. I would love a set but just never quite get around to buying them.

I do need a good non-stick fry pan about a 10" would be great. I also need a new popover pan, mine is so warped it is pitiful. And a new muffin tin, a nice heavy one. I went to get my very old bundt pan out a few weeks ago and there is no way it can be used any more. Storage in the barn over winter was much too harsh for it but it was pretty well gone anyways. I bought it years ago at a garage sale and it is time to put it to rest.

Kathleen, the Revol chicken roaster is so cute! Someone got a really niffy roaster in a cf swap some time ago. I believe it was yellow and I think it was AnnT that sent it. Not sure if it was a Revol or not but it was similar.

I am almost embarrassed to say that I would like another set of dishes. I have always loved the pattern Rose Chintz which was discontinued years ago. But they do have some at Homegoods for very little money. I've looked at it twice but passed, but it's so pretty and feminine.

I use those cheap flexible cutting mats for slicing and dicing and then bend it and put it into the pan....or if I am just chopping a little I use my chef's knife....
It's cute but I don't need a prep taxi.
I also remembered something else I need/want and that's a stainless dough scraper....the one I have is carbon steel with a wooden handle....and while I like it....I am always scrubbing off rust.
But....as I said...I have an automatic apple peeler/corer/slicer....what more could anyone want?!

I can't think of anything right now, I have too many gadgets for my small apartment kitchen as it is! Maybe some good quality knives and pots and pans. The frying pans I bought separate so they are OK. The sauce pans are very thin and have loose handles that I have to screw back on once a month!

Earthlydelights, is there a reason that you can't use modern food sealer bags in your Daisy? I've used Rival and Food Saver bags in my Deni vacuum sealer with no problems. I thought they were pretty much interchangeable. Would be a shame to throw out a vintage working appliance because the bags can't be found anymore.

ok, $75 might be tough... but my long wish list includes:

You know what? Mine are soooo goofy that I'm almost embarassed by them. A silpat liner and a bottle of that Fleur di Sicilia flavoring that the KA catalog sells. I always look at the silpats & say "20 bucks? I'll use parchment paper!". And I keep forgetting about the flavoring until something like this reminds me, then I say "well I'll order it when I need to get something else from KA" and promptly forget again.

I covet those little nut molds but was afraid that I'd go insane when I tried to actually use them.

Of course on the "you must be dreaming" wish list is one of those gorgeous Ruffioni copper pots with the acorn ornamentation. Hubba! Not in this lifetime.

Kathleen- now you've made me want to go to the Mikasa outlet near me! There's also a Williams Sonoma & a Pottery Barn so this could be an altogether very, very bad thing. But that chicken is fabulous. I'd love to get one for my mom (and one for me...like I said, dangerous)

Nina, if you really want one go soon. A guy on GB tried to order one from Sur La Table and he was informed they are no longer available. As of Fri my Mikassa Outlet had about 6 left. They came to about 35.00 with the tax here in NY ..tax is 8.50 I think..they keep upping it!

I want a shallow wood bowl to chop in with a chopper, I think the chopper is called a mezzaluna, because of its shape. I remember one my mother had when I was a child. She used it to chop nuts for Passover. She'd most likely give it to me but my son is allergic to nuts so I could never use it. I need a salad spinner too, but not sure where to store it. I want a lot of those potato-sack towels and may go out and get some more of those. They are so absorbant, the best kitchen towels I've ever used. I want a unique way to post messages, save invitations and put up all those things that used to clutter up the fridge door. My new fridge is not magnetic! Now I have no place to put that stuff and can never find things that should be on the refridgerator door.

4-6 mug set of white 18-20 ounce mugs in a tall simple shape (not a bowl style). You'd think these would be easy to find. Nope. The ones I've found are on sites that print them as promotional items and you have to order them by the gross.

Barnmom, I have white mugs in that shape, but they only hold 12 oz. I got them at Noritake, and they are marked EPOCH on the bottom, I think it is their casual line. But I will keep my eyes open for them.

Dang...my Mikasa outlet does not have the Revol Roaster. Not that I need another chicken roaster, but I sure want this one.

kathleen: have you ever tried leather potholders? They are the greatest: thin, supple, good grip, and the heat doesn't go thru. I admit they are hard to find.... but well worth the hunt. And I need to add those to my wish list since mine are old and are coming apart from washing. Did I mention that they go right in the washer when dirty?

Hey Kathleen- I didn't realize the li was for LI. Are you on the north fork or the south? My husband is from Stony Brook.

I have never heard of leather potholders! Where would you find them? I have some sturdy mitts that I got at the Williams Sonoma outlet that are pretty heat proof but they shrunk the first time I washed them.

I wash my potholders in the machine, but stretch them out to dry. Someone suggestted silicone potholders, so I might try one. I like it to be thick, but pliable so it is comfortable.

My kit/din wish list. A big step forward beyond 4 standing walls, windows and rough electric. Plaster, floor, cabs, counter and appliances would be wonderful. (I am fortunate not to be living there yet) Beyond that I do need a new hand held easy operating can opener.

I thought of something else for my wish list, a peel. I've wanted one for the longest time and again, just never get around to buying one. Also need a baking stone, a big one and a pastry cloth.

Boy, I guess I don't need much but would love to get some more grating and slicing blades for my Cuisinart FP. I keep looking at them on Amazon, but don't do it. Thinner sliced potatoes and very finely grated carrots.

Since it is friday, I may just check their outlet.

Ignorance is bliss...I have 2 blades for mine, pk, never thought about getting more! And is Fri the day for big sales at the Amazon outlet?? Never thought about that either!

They have Cuisinart blades all the time on EBay.
I have lots of blades for mine....2 sizes of juilienne discs which I very rarely use....
But I like the 1 mm slicer and the 2 and 4 a lot and the medium and fine shredder blades....don't very often use the coarse shredder nor the 4 mm slicing blade.
Maybe I better look, the church needs a finer shredder and a smaller slicer.

I was so happy to have found my OXO salad spinner at a thrift shop for 3.99 a few months ago, and now I see they have brand new ones with transparent lids! I want that one now!

I need to add to my list. I need a colander. Right now, i use a sieve. Because I have limited space, that flat fold colander advertised on TV is appealing to me. However, with most of the as seen on tv things, they turn from appealing to appalling once home and put into practice. I am also intrigued by the Yaffa hands free colander that hooks to the back of the sink faucet. But, what's the point, you don't hold the thing when you use it anyway. You set it in the sink. Has anyone tried either?

I have used the hang on the sink faucet colander....doesn't work....hard to run water into it and if you put anything at all heavy ( like a pound of cooked pasta) it will fall and dump it's contents into the sink.
Get a stainles stand alone colander with feet...you'll be happier.

The Kuhn Rikon Epicurean Garlic Press. I have a garlic press but it leaves a lot to be desired. This one was recommended by Cooks Illustrated.

Linda you are correct. I love my stand alone ss colanders. I bought a nesting set of 3 and then a nesting mini set and I use them all the time. So happy to have a ss colander and they work out so well during my canning episodes.

Beverly, When I was in MI we went to The Olive Mill in Saugatuck and it was so much fun. They have huge ss decanters of Olive Oils and Balsamic Vinegars and you can taste each one and then decide if you would like to purchase it or not. I bought 11 bottles and could have bought more. When I got home I did a google search and guess what, there is an Olive Mill in IL about an hours drive from me.

Nice site Michelle and sounds like a fun trip! Now that you know there's one only an hours drive away, I bet you'll be visiting again soon. Which olive oil would you suggest? Also which Balsamic vinegar? I use those I get at Costco and I know they must be very mediocre.

Here's another who agrees with the SS colander. I really use mine a lot. Two of the things I like best about it is that I can put it in the dishwasher and also it doesn't ever rust.

My wishlist: A Cuisinart FP, an oven stone and More Space! I can't bring myself to get rid of any of my stuff, and I just acquired all of my dad's stuff, too. I am getting a kick out of using his stuff (my brother got Dad's Cuisinart - nuts), but where to put it all? Also, a bigger Slow Cooker and a Santoku knife. I do love my Mezzaluna for all sorts of jobs, though. I really need to purge my kitchen....so I can buy more stuff!

Beverly, I would have to say that the 18 year old Balsamic or the Strawberry Balsamic are just wonderful and very versatile too. And the Roasted Walnut EVOO is excellent along with the Picudo Oil.

I thought of something else to put on my List, a yeast spoon. I buy my yeast in bulk and saw the spoon just recently and it conveniently measures 2 1/4 tsp.

That's a coincidence, Ohiomom. I was looking for potholders today in Kohl's and saw those. They were pretty flexible and I was tempted, but they only came in red, white and blue. Lehman's is great; I was there back in August when I visited family in Ohio.

I just need a new kitchen floorplan, new cabinets, countertops, floor, etc. Ain't gonna happen, though.
