I thought it would be fun for those of us meeting up with Nita to post a picture or two! Here's mine!

Thanks Silvia! Your squash and melons are beautiful! Do you plant a second round of those, like your tomatoes, because they shut down in the heat? HereÂs a bunch of new pictures...come take a quick tour! ;-) A big group of my veggie containers. The German Black heirloom (front) goes into a larger square pot soon, and tomato cages go up. A couple of containers will probably move to other spots...if I can find any room, lol. Spacemaster Cucumbers, you can still see the hail damage...peppers & toms have torn leaves as well. :-( One cuc never came up, so I may drop another seed in the back, or just leave it. They will get an inverted tomato cage soon. My cucumber watchdog, lol. I also have a pepper watchdog, a tomato one... theyÂre babies and theyÂre everywhere! How lucky, eh? There must have been a mantis nest in one of the bushes against the building. Beware, you nasty mealy bugs and white flies! California Wonder Peppers: A California Wonder baby: Huge Sungold truss: Big Beef ...hopefully soon to break in color: Black Krim heirloom: Nasturtium ~ only one of 40 seeds germinated. Grrrr! Two clubs in our Region ( Reg.3) are driving a bus down and they have some stops planned already. I believe they are stopping in Savannah for sure. Since air flight is so difficult into Valdosta, I've heard a lot of people in my area say they're driving. Last fall we had to fly into Valdosta and we were delayed by bad weather at the Atlanta airport(some 5 hours.) We thought about renting a car, but were told that it was at least a 3 1/2 hour drive south of Atlanta. So Waldrops are a huge distance away, huh? Aren't they fairly close to Stone Mountain?

Rheedia laterifolia is in the Garcinia (mangosteen) family. the Garcinia family has confusing names and are very commonly misnamed. i have Garcinia Laterifolia. its probably the easiest to grow in the Garcinia family, i read it grows wild in Brazil. it is also called Lemon Drop Mangosteen or Achachairu. there are several varieties of Garcinias, i know there are two distinct fruit that are both called Madruno. in Australia they commercially grow achachairu (picture above) but call it achacha, which is wrong because Achacha is another different fruit. to make it more confusing various sources disagree on the correct species and genus names.

I'm with Wanda...fighting snow. At least you didn't show pictures of palm trees! It's such fun to see pictures of KT'rs and put a face with a name.

sandy i'm guessing you haven't seen the FL weather...thou i guess 30 at night and 60 during the day would be warmer than most places up north :-0 normal is 55 at night 73 during the day... this is going to set a new record cold winter for the orlando area. ~ liz

I am so very sorry that I'm not going to be able to get together with you gals this time. Between family plans, Valentine's Day and hubby's knee replacement, I can't seem to find a minute of spare time. I hope you all have a wonderful time !!!

Great picture! "Thelma and Louise" will be here tomorrow. I think Nita should keep a journal and write a book on her great adventures into cyber-friends!

I thought of Thelma and Louise when Nita and Maryann were gallavanting across Texas. Made me smile!

It was fun seeing Nita and Renee again, and meeting Barbara and Lisa.I can't believe that our first meeting was 8 years ago. Nita had little Bobby with her and now he is big Bobby! Hopefully it will not be that long before we meet again. We had a great time.

On Friday morning Carol and I drove to Ocala to visit with Patti and Harry. The weather was nasty rain and cold. We arrived at their house and received a warm welcome and hugs.

After visiting for a little bit Patti and Carol went into the kitchen where Patti finished preparing lunch and Carol visited with her. Harry and I were chatting up a storm in the living room.

Lunch was wonderful and topped off with a mouth watering triffle. We talked and talked and could have talked more but we needed to head back to my cousins house. Patti loaded us up with lots of food to take back to share with my cousin Timm.

It is great to have made a couple of new friends that we plan on visiting again next year.

We had a great time visiting with all the gals in Titusville. I had met with Lisa, Sandie and Renee 8 years ago when Bobby was 9. It was fun seeing them again and getting and giving lots of hugs. What fun!!! I so enjoyed meeting Renee's sister, Lisa, too. Carol said to add her thanks for everyone coming out to meet us she had a great time.

Yes we talked for 6 hours and probably could have talked some more. We are going to save the rest of the conversation for another year.

You have seen a group picture but I took a picture of Sandie and her daughter, Lisa, who is also a member of the KT.

Love all you gals and am looking forward to another great visit.
