Thanks Silvia! Your squash and melons are beautiful! Do you plant a second round of those, like your tomatoes, because they shut down in the heat? HereÂs a bunch of new pictures...come take a quick tour! ;-) A big group of my veggie containers. The German Black heirloom (front) goes into a larger square pot soon, and tomato cages go up. A couple of containers will probably move to other spots...if I can find any room, lol. Spacemaster Cucumbers, you can still see the hail damage...peppers & toms have torn leaves as well. :-( One cuc never came up, so I may drop another seed in the back, or just leave it. They will get an inverted tomato cage soon. My cucumber watchdog, lol. I also have a pepper watchdog, a tomato one... theyÂre babies and theyÂre everywhere! How lucky, eh? There must have been a mantis nest in one of the bushes against the building. Beware, you nasty mealy bugs and white flies! California Wonder Peppers: A California Wonder baby: Huge Sungold truss: Big Beef ...hopefully soon to break in color: Black Krim heirloom: Nasturtium ~ only one of 40 seeds germinated. Grrrr! From 2 different packs of brand new seeds, and I tried everything...indoors, outside...no luck. WhatÂs the secret? ~Caroline

Thanks for the pics Lisa. I am new here but not too new to gardening. I have a few bromeliads which I have kept for over 10 years now but most of these are, I'm sure, the very basic stuff compared to what you guys have. I live in Malaysia and as Atmccmn said bromeliads are not too popular here. There is no Micheal's or any of those places in Stephania's pics above. Stephania, Thanks for all your posts about Chatuchak. After a while I caved and made a visit to Bangkok last month. The plant market is incredible. So much to see although I did not see Cryp Lisa and also Cryp Dennis Cathcart. Can you tell where the nurseries referred to above are? I would really like those on my second trip to Bangkok. I love Cryps. I have about half a dozen of them, will learn to post photos soon. Thanks to all for inspiring.

Rheedia laterifolia is in the Garcinia (mangosteen) family. the Garcinia family has confusing names and are very commonly misnamed. i have Garcinia Laterifolia. its probably the easiest to grow in the Garcinia family, i read it grows wild in Brazil. it is also called Lemon Drop Mangosteen or Achachairu. there are several varieties of Garcinias, i know there are two distinct fruit that are both called Madruno. in Australia they commercially grow achachairu (picture above) but call it achacha, which is wrong because Achacha is another different fruit. to make it more confusing various sources disagree on the correct species and genus names.

I am so tired tonight but still want to ask for prayers and hugs. The week before we came down, I had four days of extreme pain with an infected tooth which was removed the day before we flew down. Morning of our departure we had 12 inches of snow and had a difficult time getting out. Wait, you have not heard it all. Got here, happy to be out of the snow belt. Tooth thing really good but get a cough and cold. After two night of not much sleep, go to a doc. He gave me the wonderful codeine cough thing and an antibiotic for the rest. Wake up next morning with my face twice its size. Allergic reaction or drug interaction - I had told the doc down here that I had been off of another antibiotic for only three days. He said not problem. I guess it was. So, off of the new antibiotic (duh!) and onto prednisone and benedryl - I could have done my own diagnose on this one. That was Fri. Sat and Sun were horrible but not nearly as horrible as Monday. Monday am, hubby comes into family room and does not look good. Tells me there is something not right. I have my hand on the phone to 911 - I know he has had a stroke! The paramedics were here within 15 minutes. 6 of them! I will tell you I was so scared for my DH. DH spent almost the entire day in ER, doing tests, being observed. The docs and nurses and assistants were wonderful. Finally saw the neurologist at about 5 in the aft. He had seen all of the immediate test results and had confirmed stroke. It was in the lobe which affect speach and fine motor control - a nasty one for an attorney to have. However, no cognitive harm. He has done remarkably well in the last 24 hours and we are confident that he will continue to improve though it will take work. He has already stared with a speach therapist (I love her) and will have therapy for fine motor control. He has no problem with walking - we walked the entire hospital this aft. so tired tonight - drove home through an amazing storm with close to zero visibility. Amazing to look out the balconey toward Miami at this hour and see the lightning stikes-the entire sky lights up. I am on Marco, BTW and I am going to bed. MK

Great picture! "Thelma and Louise" will be here tomorrow. I think Nita should keep a journal and write a book on her great adventures into cyber-friends!

I thought of Thelma and Louise when Nita and Maryann were gallavanting across Texas. Made me smile!

It was fun seeing Nita and Renee again, and meeting Barbara and Lisa.I can't believe that our first meeting was 8 years ago. Nita had little Bobby with her and now he is big Bobby! Hopefully it will not be that long before we meet again. We had a great time.

Oops! I just realized that I typed Barbara. I would liked to have met her, but I meant Carol. Nita and Carol will have some neat stories to tell. Maybe they will write that book.

On Friday morning Carol and I drove to Ocala to visit with Patti and Harry. The weather was nasty rain and cold. We arrived at their house and received a warm welcome and hugs.

After visiting for a little bit Patti and Carol went into the kitchen where Patti finished preparing lunch and Carol visited with her. Harry and I were chatting up a storm in the living room.

Lunch was wonderful and topped off with a mouth watering triffle. We talked and talked and could have talked more but we needed to head back to my cousins house. Patti loaded us up with lots of food to take back to share with my cousin Timm.

It is great to have made a couple of new friends that we plan on visiting again next year.

We had a great time visiting with all the gals in Titusville. I had met with Lisa, Sandie and Renee 8 years ago when Bobby was 9. It was fun seeing them again and getting and giving lots of hugs. What fun!!! I so enjoyed meeting Renee's sister, Lisa, too. Carol said to add her thanks for everyone coming out to meet us she had a great time.

Yes we talked for 6 hours and probably could have talked some more. We are going to save the rest of the conversation for another year.

You have seen a group picture but I took a picture of Sandie and her daughter, Lisa, who is also a member of the KT.

Love all you gals and am looking forward to another great visit.
