googled "impulsive talking" definition and came up with all of this... nonverbal learning disability nonspecific learning disability ADHD Asperger's Syndrome high functioning autism from link below "Although AS or NLD doesn't prevent it's sufferers from having a "normal" adult life, there's little information about the eventual outcome for most children with AS or NLD. Some NLD/AS adults have been able to achieve a level of personal and professional success in various jobs including teaching, writing, even sales. AS adults are often drawn to a career that relates to their own areas of special interest, and may become proficient. Thus childhood fascinations may form a basis for an adult career. With the right supports and accommodations, adults with AS / NLD can be successful, contributing citizens and employees. Some of the brightest individuals with AS or NLD represent a unique resource for society, having the single mindedness and consuming interest to advance our knowledge in many scientific disciplines. Many of these will never seek diagnosis; since their differences do not cause insurmountable problems at work or in relationships, they simply accept their idiosyncrasies. Gillberg estimates 30-50% of all Aspergers' go undiagnosed (Gillberg, 2002), and the same is probably true of NLDers'. Often, successful adults became aware of their condition only after having children similarly afflicted. In many cases, however, adults with NLD / AS have several college degrees, yet are unable to find or keep work that matches their strengths and abilities. The reason for this is the disparity between a high verbal and a relatively lower performance IQ score of NLDers and ASers. While verbal IQ is most indicative of academic achievement, performance IQ points to the ability to achieve success at work. Thus, though they attain high levels of education and skill, they may fail to hold down a job and earn a living. A high percent are either unemployed or underemployed. Just 12% of Asperger Adults are in full time employment, and only 3% live independently (Barnard et.al., 2001). There is no current data on the employment of individuals with NLD, but almost half of those I know with the disorder are unemployed, and many others underemployed. It's appalling that so many who are educated, articulate, skilled, honest and hard-working remain chronically unemployed. Because of their high degree of functionality and their naivet those with NLD / AS are often viewed as eccentric or odd. Subtle differences cause difficulty in social interactions and workplace relationships. For example, their inability to read nonverbal signals makes interpersonal communication a challenge. Their rigid style and peculiar perspective exacerbate the problems. Because the AS/NLD employee has trouble with eye contact, he can be perceived as inattentive, evasive, or rude. Difficulty with modulating volume and tone of voice can make him appear angry. Problems with understanding body language, social cues, or even facial expressions makes it hard to know what is expected and often leads to misunderstandings. Until he's verbally told, he may not be aware whether the boss is happy with his work or is disapproving. At that point, it is usually too late." This was preceding the speech, it explains the intention . "If you missed the many, many confusing speeches at the Democratic and Republican national conventions, dont worry. Weve fed the transcripts into a robot that synthesizes and streamlines the partisan political sentiments of the past 10 days. Here is the resulting amalgamated speech, the keynote of keynotes."

Boy, do I agree with all of you! I've had a lot of the same experiences and done a lot of the things you've suggested. (except for the You-Tube thing, that's funny!) It seems like as soon as somebody learns how to use a computer and how to e-mail people, that's what they start doing. It's the mark of a Newby. I have a cousin that doesn't e-mail me at all anymore because I asked her to stop sending stuff like that. I asked her nice, in much the same was as has been recommended here. Lots of genealogy buddies won't e-mail me at all anymore because I don't want the junk. It's not fair! I'd love to hear from all of them, just not the junk. An old classmate just happily continued sending stuff -- from work, yet -- until I blocked her e-mails from coming to me entirely. She hacked me off. I didn't like her very much while we were going to school with each other. I stole her boyfriend and still she wanted to be pals. --Especially after somebody came along and stole the guy from me! LOL I don't know why people get so insulted when they're asked not to send the junk stuff.

No soup? I haven't heard about that Marie but probably will. Being small has it's benefits as nearly everything we serve is made from scratch, including the soups. Our patrons then doctor the food to their taste. We accept 'donations' from the patrons; we can't charge them. Our collection box must be out of our sight so we can't tell who pays or who doesn't. No one wants a summer home where I live either Maybee; too cold and too many bugs. I'm talking about the north end of Rich county, through a mountain pass, where the climate is milder, the bugs fewer and the view (to some, not me) is more spectacular.) Someday my side of the valley will be filled with houses but only when every other available space in the state is taken. Add Wyoming to the list of CA-haters. Those who couldn't find a place in Oregon or Montana settled in Wyoming. It makes me sick to see the houses where all the dryfarms and alfalfa fields and cattle pasture used to be. And those people too move in then try to change everything then wonder why the natives get testy. Personally I'd like to see that oil well come in and other fields developed. Oil makes counties wealthy which can (if managed properly) provide lots of services and takes the burden off tax payers. Lori
