My best beauty tip would be to have a complete physical exam every year. If you get sick, it won't matter what your complexion looks like!

I read that Preparation H is good for baggy under eyes, but I keep forgetting to buy it. I'll add Milk of Magnesia to the list, too. Shoot I need all the help I can get.

I use soap(dove) and water and a washcloth on my face.rinse with cool water.I'm 70 next month and don't have any wrinkles at all.

This is kind of a stinky beauty tip but it really works. Apply Miracle Whip to your face. Leave it on about 15-20 minutes. I usually do this right before I shower. It makes my skin so smooth. I couldn't believe how well it works on my feet and legs which tend to get dry even when I use lotion. After letting it dry you can rub your legs and feet and the dry skin rolls off. Sounds awful but like I said, it works if you can take the smell. LOL

I haven't washed my face with soap since I was probably 12 years old or less. I use cold cream and wash it off with water. I'm 61 and people usually think I am considerably younger.

I slather on palmers cocoa butter after every shower...if I could pass along a tip...it would be to start slathering on lotion all over your body when your 10...and drink LOTS OF WATER!!

Eat well! Use food as it is intended, to nourish your body. Avoid saturated fats as much as possible, throw away the soda, and give up sugar. Yes, this means no Bacon Candy. :-)

Remember those Leafy Green Vegetables our fifth-grade teachers told us we need? We do. Eat them! Eat fruit, too, but not the kind packed in heavy syrup. Rediscover nuts, especially the ones that aren't roasted in oil and salted.

If I kept eating the way I did as a teenager, I hate to think how I'd look today. Or, more importantly, how I'd feel.

Lots of sleep.

Avoid sun (farmers'/fisherpersons' skin looks like leather).

Eat a healthful diet.

Fall in love.

Tell a joke.

Have a positive outlook.

Lastly, most important - have good genes!

Start when you are 12 or so. Moisturize daily and wear sun screen! Do not frown or give frequent toothy grins. Do not gain weight and take your vitamins. Eat healthy and chose your parents carefully.

I've read about the Preparation H being used under the eyes to shrink the bags, but I recently found an article on cnn that cautions against over use of many OTC creams. This is what they said about Prepartion H:

"An anti-inflammatory topical steroid that shrinks swollen tissue by constricting blood vessels, hydrocortisone is often used to stop the itching caused by chronic skin conditions like eczema and contact dermatitis, and it's also an ingredient in vaginal and hemorrhoidal creams. OTC topical steroids can contain just 1 percent hydrocortisone, which should be safe, says Dina D. Strachan, M.D., a dermatologist in private practice in New York City.

Be careful, though, when applying the creams to sensitive spots such as the eyelids, armpits, and groin (all places where eczema, rashes, and allergic reactions are particularly common). In these locations, skin is thinner and more folds exist, so skin hits skin often, which can cause medications to penetrate more deeply. These areas are also prone to stretch marks, irritation, hypopigmentation (lightening), and "a crinkly, cigarette-paper appearance," Strachan explains -- a good reason to avoid that old beauty-queen trick of using hemorrhoidal cream to de-puff eye bags, experts say. In fact, last year the makers of Preparation H issued a warning cautioning consumers to avoid applying hemorrhoid cream to the face."

LOL @ Ron's comment. It's to late for me. I did to much damage as a teen, laying in the sun, frying. But, I keep trying. You can bet I'll be reading this post seeing if there's one hint I haven't tried.
I think your gene's and your ethnic makeup helps a great deal too. My ex MIL was hispanic, in her 80's, and didn't have a wrinkle one, to speak of.

OH, BTW do not put preparation H under or around your eyes....I tried that and it shrunk everything to the point of making me look like a wrinkly old bat. This was right before xmas dinner with the inlaws. Did you ever see anyone try to force face cream into skin before? I was frantic.
I'm back to using it to only shrink my varicose vein (which it does quite nicely).

Here are mine:

Drink milk
Drink lots of water
Stay out of the sun
Eat healthy foods, minimally processed (if at all)
Do not smoke (or you'll look like the cartoon character Maxine)
No foundation/make-up
Don't use soap on your face, and moisturize frequently
Use almond oil as a moisturizer before bathing/showering and as a hair treatment
Get plenty of sleep

I'm 56 and have been told I look at least 10 years younger, even with salt and pepper hair.

Retin-A

Before you sharpen your lip or eye pencils, put them in the freezer for 5 min then sharpen. This will prevent the tip from breaking off in the sharpener.

LOL at ronf. I have a friend (male) that's quite a Casanova and he says all women look alike in the dark. DH says they can't all "feel alike." Someone else said it--I've used only Dove soap since I was a child, and that's been a while ago! I'm basically wrinkle free. My best beauty tip is Estee Lauder make up--where has it been all my life? I love it!

I also only use Dove soap. I'm very wrinkle free for my age. However, the terrible sunburns that I got as a child (I'm very fair, there was no suncreen back then, and my grandparents lived in Florida must have done some damage.

My tip is to wear a light foundation, or at least an SPF moisturizer whenever you leave the house. I have friends who are identical twins and share a very similar lifestyle. Neither smoke, sunbathe, have more than the occasional drink, are highly stressed etc. Yet one of them looks almost 10 years younger than her twin and definitely hasn't had any work done. The only big difference is that the younger looking one has worn a light foundation since she was 15 to blend an uneven skin tone, and her twin has always gone barefaced. Their dermatologist confirmed that 40 years of a thin layer of foundation gave the one twin some protection from the pure sun exposure that going bare faced didn't provide. Unfortunately, he said she'd now have to use Botox, Restalyne and Collagen injections to fill out lines (that her sister doesn't have), in order to restore her skin to a similar appearance.

Any under eye concealer I use, I dab a touch of face powder on to set it. My skin has always been dry, for my face I have always used oil of olay....the real stuff, no knock offs. I have few wrinkles for my age, but I know that much of it is genetic.

Slice a lemon in eight wedges. For each wedge, add a tablespoon of plain white sugar. Rub on feet and hands, massage in, rinse well, dry, then apply a small amount of hand cream. Your hands and feet will be so soft and clean.

Sun protection is a good idea, starting as early as possible. What works best for me (at my age I'm not trying to turn heads or anything) is to look in the mirror, chin up, shoulders back, confident smile ... and that's about as good as it's going to get anymore!

Rogaine works to add fullness to sparse eyebrows. Apply with a Q-tip. (I understand even the generic versions work, but haven't tried it)
