I don't think anybody you know sent it. It's just slick junk mail. The company had your name and address.

LOL...I got one like that several years ago, but mine was for a weight loss product! I weigh around 90lbs...so I knew they weren't talkin' to me!! lmbo

I got something similar to this several years ago, but after getting upset, and taking it to our Postmaster she calmed me down and I put in a complaint and she said she would report it. Don't know if she did or not, but it made me feel better.

I seldom open junk mail anymore. Obvious stuff gets tossed, well, recycled and questionable might get a peek. Doesn't even come into the house. It's sorted before I come inside. I used to mail back all the Business Reply ones, filled to the brim with more than they sent so they'd get the extra charge but I don't usually waste my time with that anymore. I've reduced my junk mail significantly and my junk calls too so that helps.

The one issue I have is some clown who incorporated a locksmith business and used MY address! So that results in a lot of junk mail.

But that is an interesting sounding ad. Haven't seen that one before.

I can't think how many years ago I got an ad like that suggesting weight loss (and I needed it) and I was wondering who to blame. It was when my kids were little and the youngest is almost 50! It was awhile before I realized it was an advertisement.

Junk mail, it's an old trick. Throw that cr@p out. I used to get ads like that with hand-written comments "Jannie,try this!" about weight loss. Altho I've always been under weight. Haha on them!

I used to get mail like that for match-making businesses. LOL I'm 63 and been married to the same old duffer since 1967!

Just for fun, if they send a postage-paid envelope, I always tear up all their ad plus any other spare paper I can fit into the envelope, close it up and drop it in the mail (without my return address on anything, of course!) If they can pack my mailbox with stuff I don't want and can't use, I can do it to them! Hee hee

After a few minutes, i did realize it was some slick ad campaign. Some of your responces reminded me of something i used to do. I just hate all of those card inserts in magazines. I heard on Johnnie Carsons show someone was talking about them and they said if you notice, where the stamp goes, it says return postage paid by the company. So I started tearing the cards out, pwiting that this was a shameful waste of trees and mailed them back to them, fuguring they would have to pay the postage. I even asked at the post office if they were indeed sent back.He said yes, but something about the way he answered made me doudt it. I did that for a couple years, then stopped. Dottie, who, yes indeed, i earned everyone of my wrinkles, although there aren't as many of them as grey hairs. LOL

I haven't gotten one of those, but what annoys me the most (and Southern Living is the biggest offender) is a piece of mail that looks exactly like a bill for a magazine subscription. No flyer on WHY I should subscribe, they just make it look like I DID subscribe and here's the bill to pay. I often wonder how many husbands pay that "bill" because they think it's legit. I wrote the company to complain but never heard back from them. It did seem to stop for a while, but then I got another one last week. BASKETS! Sneaky little baskets! And to top it off, I think their magazine is THE most boring one out there. Too la-dee-dah for me.

Those cards in magazines make for good book marks. I use them all the time.

I too get "magazine bill" well they appear to be that. I sure try to read everything. Country (Rehman) is one of the worst,guess since Reader's Digest bought them out, they sure aren't the same. I shred all.

Sounds like they are having problems, too:

I'm not surprised. I used to either get RD as a Christmas gift each year or if not, I would renew. I always put it in the BR and read it while in there contemplating my naval. One day, after getting irritated for the umpteenth time at all the ads, I starting tearing out all the card inserts and then went back and tore out all the pages that had nothing but advertising front and back. Counted the remaining pages and there were probably no more than 25 and those had ads on at least one side of the page. Did not renew and haven't missed it. Used to love the jokes but those aren't funny anymore. I picked one up at the Dr.'s office one day and couldn't find anything interesting.

Dottie, we used to get advertising like that; it's kind of startling at first until you catch on.

Ilene, DH also sends back ad material if a prepaid envelope is included. He feels he's getting revenge.

All I'll say is that I've met Dottie and don't ANY of you be fooled into thinking this classy lady has wrinkles and gray hair! She's one good looking lady! :)

I got one of those years ago. Gave me a start, too, until I realized it was junk mail. Now we don't even open junk mail - it goes straight to the recycling bin. (Well, usually anyway. Today the snow is too deep.)
