I'm a little foggy on this, perhaps I'm just not visualizing well...Are you asking whether the brackets holding the rod should be placed next to the edge of the window? If this is what you are asking, then, how would you push the drapes to hang 10" past the window frame with the bracket in the way? I must be missing something. On all my windows, and most recently, on this one near the corner of the kitchen, I hung my drapery rod brackets as far out from the edge of the window as I could, to widen the look of the window, and to allow the fabric to 'stack' full while only intruding into the actual window area the slightest amount. For this window, I had to allow a couple of inches for the finial to not bump the adjacent wall at the corner, so I was only able to hang the brackets 6" outside the window, otherwise, the drape rod with finial wouldn't fit. As a result, the drape does cover part of the glass. I don't like that, but I was limited by space. My window is only 35" wide, but it looks about 48" wide because of the draperies. Red

Ange, we had a similar situation with 12" molding that extends along the ceiling plane about 8" in towards the center of the room. We ended up finding a thin rod from Renovation hardware, but it was only 12 feet long. Your 18' length will def be a custom item. If it is fabricated in sections make sure you can put a support at the join. Initially, we ordered a custom wrought iron rod from a blacksmith in California (we are in GA) and the join fell right where there was a wood keystone for the arched top of the center window. There was no place to attach the support bracket and we were relieved that that rod would go in DS's room, which we were also redoing. Felt lucky to find the RH rod that was reasonable after spending so much on the custom item that could not be installed. I'm afraid that experience convinced me that I should stick with the designer for window treatments. Of course, I can't sew and don't have the talent to devise my own treatments....you probably would have spotted the problem and not ordered the rod I chose in the first place! Those chairs are knockouts, and I look forward to seeing the curtain material.

That pic is a bit hard to see where it was taken against the light coming in. I should have realized that the sheers would be a bit dressier than I was thinking, with the pleats. I can 'see' if the sheers were just gathered on a rod, but I don't know if I an picture panels over the pleated sheers until we have more info. Do you intend to put panels just on the ends for color? One panel at each end that would just hang there, or do you plan to have panels that you would draw closed over the sheers? I tried to find examples of both, but didn't find as many as I'd hoped. This is the only example I found with pleated sheers, both hung at the same height.

I think nice drapes, hung well, really finish off a room. I love your fabric choices. You don't have a lot of room for rods so you are going to have to be creative. For the bay there are bay window rods available but you have to be careful because the brackets for corners don't allow the drapes to move. I had a tight bay window and used separate wrap around rods for each window. Each window had their own rod and two panels. I wasn't crazy about how they turned out because of the way the drapes stacked but it was the best I could do. I think the drapes were too thick.
