People in our municipality generally have a habit of placing raked and bagged - and sometimes shredded ;)- leaves close to the curb before pick-up day. Then they move them to the curb on what we call 'green cart' day. (Our municipality composts so one week they pick up all compostables and recyclables, and the next week it's regular landfill garbage. We have these big green carts where homeowners place the compostables and then wheel it out to the curb.) I always talk to the homeowners since the bags are not set directly at the roadside in most cases. Everyone is always interested in their use, but most are not gardeners so they really don't want the leaves. One guy does shred some and leave them on his lawn, but he's got so many he puts 1/2 to the curb, and the other 1/2 he throws in the woods behind his house. Since meeting him, he now bags everything for me and is happy to see me every year. I have about 50 bags of his stuff under our veranda waiting to be shredded. I've been collecting from one particular household for 4 years now. I had received permission from the 'man of the house' to drive unto his property to get the shredded goodies. This fall, his wife came out and expressed an interest in gardening since she was retiring. I gave her my personal info for her to get in touch with me in the spring so I can give her a boatload of perennials and young shrubs! And if it so happens that they start using the goodies I've been getting from them, then all the better!

Thanks Lukki! I have eighteen other things I need to be doing this morning, but I've been looking at the fixtureuniverse site...now that's alot of soap holders! The one below MIGHT be a possibility. I could get a towel with a loop like Lyban's and hook it over that ball thing at the top. That might work, huh? Darn thing is pretty pricey, though.....oh well, this funny little half bath may end up being the most expensive per inch of any around. And to think I could have gotten the PB soap holder for maybe twenty bucks with shipping. Gonna go kick myself again now. After I do my eighteen things and get over kicking myself, I'm gonna look for the wall hung bottle type holders, too. This could become a full time job! I truly don't understand how or why anyone is offended at ma'am. It is a sign of respect to others. Weren't you raised to say yes/no ma'am and yes/no sir to others in response to questions? I was taught to say it to any command, reprimand from an adult, I.e. no running in the school as well as general questions from anyone I didn't know, I.e. waitress asking, are you done with that plate? Age has never been a factor. If the cashier who is clearly younger than I am in the store asks if their is anything else I need, I reply with, "no ma'am", if I need help from that clearly younger man in the store I don't say, "excuse me young man (to me, THAT is patronizing) I say, excuse me sir" Maybe it is regional? I've only ever had a few people get upset and say something to the effect of I'm no ma'am/sir!!! Which just makes me think, obviously or you wouldn't act that way.
