You saw Brit' the gentle giant the other day...

With Luca's bear. But he's got himself a new, "indestructable" plushie. His other plushies hold up great, but I haven't gotten him a new one in a while. When he gets a new one, he works on it to see if it will relinquish it's innards or not. :)

Here he is...OMGOSH!!! I JUST LOOKED OVER AND IT'S DEAD! DEAD I TELL YOU!!!! ROTFL! I didn't plan on this to happen while I posted this. Geeeez. The d@mn@d thing cost $10!! I wasn't even going to tell you that I went yesterday and got him one of those long doggies from the store and he ripped that right up. I thought, "Oh, that's my fault for not getting something tougher. I'll get him a better toy tomorrow." ::Snort!::

Okay, I'll post the pics I was intending to show you...LOL.

Here he's enjoying the squirrel, just moments ago.

Here is the supposedly indestructable squirrel. ::Sigh::

Aaaand, here he is ashamed of himself with the corner of Squirrel's toes ripped off. Look at those pathetic ears! He thinks he's hiding from me- he ran off with the toy when I frowned in dismay. :)

Poor little fella ~ he looks so confused about what happened to his little squirrel.

I finally gave up on trying to find toys that aren't easily destroyed, no matter how much they cost. I paid $15 for a stupid frisbee that was supposed to be made of something Superman couldn't even tear up. It lasted about 10 minutes. Kongs last longer for our dogs than anything else I've found.

Thanks Dorph for bringing this to our attention. Missy is eager to get her first cd and blast the neighborhood with it. I think that she has wowed the world and put a new tilt to it. I was thinking about how as technology has advanced and the look of the performer has become as important as their talent, or even more so, the performers of times past came to mind. There was Frank Fontaine as Crazy Guggenheim on the Jackie Gleason Show and Jim Nabors as Gomer Pyle on the Andy Griffith Show. These guys played on their looks and surprised us with their talent. There are more out there that do not fit today's "standards" I am sure and I do not bring this up to diminish the talent that Miss Boyle possesses, I think she is great. I just wonder what we all miss due to presupposition and judging people without looking or listening.

Hi Randy, That is really sad and I am sorry to hear about Rocky. When did it happen? I am sure Rocky will be well missed and added a lot to your life. He kept you and your family safe and caught the AC copper theives. I always had big dogs as well and know their companionship is priceless, especially one that looks up to you. I had a big dog named Duke (border collie mix)who was like Rocky and it killed me to see him go. He was getting so old and I would nurse him by helping him walk. He got so old he would bark at a paper bag thinking it was cat:) We had many good years like that. It was so hard to put him down that the vet sent me such a touching card that I kept it. You may think this is totally crazy but I asked God if I can have him in Heaven; Biblically at one point we ride with Jesus on horses, so I asked if Duke can be my horse. God said ask and you will recieve, so I am asking in faith in the resurrection. We have hope in Him. We had tons of snow here too, it was plain record-breaking bringing us to the 3rd or 4th snowiest winter. Its been getting milder slowly and we missed many of those nice days you had. My palms did well. Hope to see pics of your palms and Rocky soon. Take care.

Thanks, KT friends. I had my good cry, read all of the lovely messages in the sympathy cards, He was loved, liked and so respected by a lot of people. Yes, i think he visits, as there have been things happen that can't be explained. To Wanda and Mamatoad, I'm sorry for loss. It is a special kind of pain to lose a child. One lingering saddness is, his wife, in CA, just doesn't seem to want to stay connected with us. We've made it clear how much it means that she gave him so much happiness. They married late in life and had six years, and I believe they were the happiest 6 years of Brian's life. We'll always be thankful for that. I have stopped calling, she never returns voice mail nor emails, but I still sent her Christmas card and birthday card with a short note. Again thanks for the comforting words.

Has anyone tried the books by Elisabeth Ogilvie? She was active from the middle through the close of the 20th century. Her books were mostly set in rural coastal Maine, a series about Bennett's Island as well as some stand alone novels, suspense stories, and historical novels. I believe there were some YA books as well, though I never read any of those. I wasn't crazy about the Bennett's Island series, though they were very popular, but I liked some of her other adult novels very much. She was a master at evoking a sense of place. In fact, she made me long to visit Maine.

Poor guy. Tell him it's alright. My Dachshund, Elvira, tears any plush toy to shreds in minutes so stopped buying anything she can tear up. Now she goes for my fluffy floor duster. LOL

Gosh Hailey, he is such a beautiful dog.

My Jesse does stuff like that too. It's so funny the way he reacts when I lower my voice and say 'What did you do?' He scrunches his eyes, does a little Elvis thing with his lip, and kinda paws at the air. Then he slinks past me and lays down. He can't get by with anything but his cuteness.

Oh my gosh....I love how he's hiding behind the chair leg and peeking at you with one eye. My furbaby hides her head under her blankie and thinks she's safe, not realizing that the whole rest of her body's exposed....

My dogs love their squeeky bears! (notice I didn't say they last long)They haven't had a new one for awhile now either. DD bought her Doxie Diesel a toy that supposedly couldn't be destroyed...unhuh. He worked at it and it was road kill in less than 24 hours!
I agree with the Kong! We have one, need to get another. The dogs are nuts for it! I fill it with treats or peanut butter or peanut butter AND bits of treats. Ohmygosh it is hilarious!!We have one for small dogs, but I know they are different sizes.

Jake's toys used to last but not anymore. A couple of his stuffed toys lasted a whole year. I ordered a large stuffed toy from Foster's & Smith and gave it to him for Christmas. The next day he was tearing it apart. His previous toy from F&S lasted at least 6 months, if not longer.

LOL, all!

He does have toys/plushies that have lasted forever. He just hasn't had anything new for a long time. :) He's got a Kong he loves and thank goodness for Nylabone, LOL! He's running around with his squirrel pelt tonight and keeps trying to get me to throw it. Doofy dog. : D

You know what really weirds me out though? When I was getting it out of the bag, I didn't look at him or even squeak it. He came RUNNING and kept pawing at me to hurry up and cut off the tags. How did he know it was HIS and not for the kids? Did the same thing with his toy yesterday. Sometimes I think he can read my mind, LOL.
