What great shots Dave!

Is there a organization near you that might take the kittens and find them good homes? Some groups will even catch and neuter or spay the adults then release them back into the area they are familar with.

Hi Dave! Pretty pics and pretty felines. :) I'm partial to red tabbys. I always 'hurt' for the ferals/strays and wish they could've known care and love all their lives. It's good when someone can gather these ferals for neutering and spaying. Some communities provide these services for the volunteers willing to do the capturing and returning.

My guess is the kittens are still nursing since the mom is still coming and going. What did the animal control person say to do with the mom? Is it still raining, is she in a protected area, and is the trap partially covered? Personally, I would slowly approach her just to see if she acts really wild of if she accepts your presence. Did you ask him what they will do with the mom and kittens? I hate the idea of her being caged so long, so check her now and then to make sure she doesn't injure herself.

tring to save feral kitten (long)

Well, with all of your suggestions, I have decided to try and trap it. I'm calling around today to see if I can find a live trap. She came up with in about 5 feet of me this morning. It was pouring rain last night, so I think the food I left out for her went by the wayside. She was ready to eat this morning. I'm feeding her kitten chow at the moment. I did call my vet yesterday afternoon and spoke to them there. They will accept a feral cat, particularly one so young. I plan to take her in as soon as I can catch her. I will get her shots, tested, and fixed, depending on her sex. My home office upstairs will become her/his new home until she/he's ready to meet the rest of the family. I had a fight with my BF last night about it. I feel like I am doing the right thing. It feels good to me. He thinks I have too many amimals as it is and 'I can't save everything'. Our thoughts on animals is very different needless to say. It's my house, I'm doing what I want. Wish me luck. Deep down I think this kitten wants me to save it. Thanks for all the suggestions. Mindy

I hope someone can take them because I know for a fact that shelters are over run with kittens and many, many of them do not find homes and are euthanized. I would take them. What's a few more cats when I already have about 20?

I love your pics, Dave, but my all time favorite will always be that snake covered in duck weed. :))
