I am splotching a (Sherwin Wm's mixed) sample of F&B's French Grey, right now in my entry. It looks good but I need more light and maybe a bit of sunshine tomorrow to see for sure. I wanted something more grey or more brown, but keep striking out with this not-too-light entry. RH's Flax looks amazing, but may be too dark. One of my top contenders was F&B Mouse's Back. I was sold on that, but my DD keeps saying it's too much like the Baby Turtle in the LR and the Northampton Putty in the DR, both of which are adjoining the entry. However, I MUST show you guys a blog where they painted the bottom cabinets in the Mouse's Back! I wondered if that is a look that might work for Tammy? I have both Gustavian Gray and Alex Blue on ceilings in my house. And a Martha blue at the summer place. I do love blue ceilings! I also have the GG in two other places on the walls. In one it is very pale blue. In the other, it goes more aqua. Never gray, but that's with the strong light of FL. One thing I will say is that my LR has the Alex Blue on the ceiling and I fell in love with F&B Light Blue (a very gray blue) and wanted to use it on the walls. Light Blue is a greener blue, while Alex is more violet (subtle, but its there) and those two blues didn't play nicely together. I think that (m)any light blue(s) will work, but only if you're not painting blue-ish walls. If you might paint blue walls, then you should consider carefully which pale blue you want for the ceiling. And I don't think one precludes the other. Very lovely ttodd and coleen, as usual!

Hey Red! I tried BM Silver Fox in my kitchen and w/ it's low light and silver small appliances it looked to purple to me. So sad! Wait till you see what's going on my LR walls.... I've lived w/ the Revere Pewter sample in it for almost a year now and I finally made a decision. I'm sorry that the SW Requisite Gray didn't work - I'm happy to hear that you think it's a beautiful color though. I am actually re-painting our MBR Requisite Gray after somebody e-mailed me asking to use a pic of our MBR on a web-site. I panicked - how could I say yes? Was it the picture from when it was blue, blue, gray, green, white, blue or what?! Turned out it was the pic from when it was Requisite Gray. I sighed and my heart fluttered when I saw the pic all over again so I decided to do it again and leave it. I peeked at the Gray Owl more than once for DD's room. Good louck w/ your decision! Oh! I'm currently looking at BM Kendall Charcoal for a kitchen built in (to look like furniture) and Chelsea Gray or something for the upper portion of DR w/ SW Highland White below. But who knows - last week th eupper portion was going to be BM Polo Blue and before that MS Thunderhead (a gray).

Awwwww - group hug : ) I've got the first coat dried on the boards, and I'll put the second coat on this evening. I'm leaning toward one of the F&Bs I *didn't* get, actually...it's probably the dead-on match for mine, and I'm curious to get a sample to see how the F&B formula makes it behave differently from mine. I'll cover a portion of some of the wall that will be demo'd with some primer, then put the F&B on next to mine. I'll take some pics then. btw, the colors I have are Pigeon (the front-runner, although Blue Gray is the one that's closest to Mine, so it's actually the most possible) and Hampstead White. I don't love Hampstead White for this application. The bathroom will be with modern walnut cabinetry, natural satin finish, and labradorite granite with big gorgeous inclusions : ) I'm still not set on tile...probably something golden and simple since I want it to match the rest of the 1st floor. And the room will be *bigger* -- we're taking out a weird inwards-divot that goes nowhere. The paint itself is really interesting. I don't get any feeling of anything being put in to make it flow...even this emulsion feels a bit chalky in the application. Can't imagine what the estate and the dead flat feel like. Has anyone used dead flat?
