Help Needed: Cooking 101 Question

Sometimes eggs are used to thicken, usually partially for taste also. I need to add some beaten egg to a sauce mainly for taste. I only need a few drops so I hate to waste a whole egg. I have some Egg Beaters, but since it is only egg whites will it have the same taste in a sauce and will it cause it to thicken any at all?
