It sounded like the dickens last night, and to be sure it would have been nasty to be out in. But we woke up this morning to a pretty clear day. I got stuck pulling out of my driveway, but once I was pushed out and made it to a main road (read: plowed) it was smooth sailing.

I had a feeling it would work out that way. The schools were closed, but I don't think they should have been.

Maybe I am just bitter 'cause I had to go to work ;).

I had a little snow yesterday Morning (Tuesday) but today was all ice rain- drizzle all day and around 31 degrees. Very slippery out but once I got to main roads it was just wet. Forgot to add- I live in Long Island NY where we've had 7 winter storms so far.

Didn't get a lot of snow, but it was quite windy and what came was packed really hard in the drifts.

I had some large paper bags in which cat food had come, that I'd filled with empty pop cans and when the snow coming through the narrow gap under the garage door was making a drift under the back of the car, I lay several of those bags along the bottom of the door.

When I came out to feed the cats (second feed daily to fuel them in cold weather) at night when things had settled down some, the bags had been pushed a foot and a foot and a half into the garage, and pop cans were scattered around. That wind must have been like in a wind tunnel.

When I walked out the lane to get the mail, the snow was coming down almost horizontally.
