I love it too, but always use the Minute Tapioca. I like the recipe with the beaten egg whites in it. I make mine in the microwave. Now I am hungry for some.

My father in law used to make me tapioca pudding.....loved how he made it and I sure do miss him.
He would also make me liver, bacon and onions.

Love it! I use the Minute tapioca also - but not the fluffy recipe. We like to eat it warm. Ultimate comfort food!

I make it with the Bascom's large pearl tapioca.
I always have a box in the kitchen cabinet - no other brand will do.

Ewwww. That Swiss Miss stuff is nasty. I do love tapioca though. Especially the fluffy kind with the egg whites folded in. Now I wish I had gotten some while I was at the store earlier. Apparently, my Great Grandfather didn't think too much of it. He always said it was like opening your mouth and letting the sun shine in. Guess he liked something with more "substance".

Our company cafeteria used to carry it and it was so delicious and then they stopped. I've asked a couple times for them to bring it back, but so far nothing. Prob just as well, need to stop pouring on the calories.

We like it too. Use the Minute tapioca. Make it every couple of weeks, DH has to have zert', and I can control the sugar(he's diabetic).

DH doesn't care for it but my kids and grands love it. I make it every couple of weeks to take to the nursing home for my son. None of us likes the ready made.

I love it. Ar Bib's Steakhouse we go to they always have it on their salad bar. I usually take a big helping of it to eat there and take most of my steak home because I'm too full for it. I make the Minute Tapioca for myself sometimes since Dh doesn't like it. In fact one of the girls at work decided yesterday that we should have our manager order us a #10 can of it and split it for the two of us. We mights still do it. She said she loves it as much as I do.

I buy it ready made in the little cups.

I'm another tapioca lover. Any any shape or size. Just bring 'er on!

I love the Minute Tapioca recipes, both of them. Not as fond of the pearl tapioca, which my mother loved.

I love tapioca too, but have never ever made it. Maybe I need to pick up some of the Minute Tapioca tonight, just to give it a try!

Yes we like it and I've even made it with the orange juice recipe on the box..very good but I love regular tapioca...

My DM made it and that is where I learned about it. She always made the pearl kind, and so I didn't know there was any other kind. Jodi, we also called it fish eyes!

I made it for my family and we all loved it. Have a friend who loved it and when she came to visit I always made it for her. I sometimes added maraschino cherries to it, after it cooled.

This reminded me that I bought a box of the Minute Tapioca a while back. I've never made the Minute kind. Think I will later today.

Love tapioca pudding but have only had the premade kind, Swiss Miss or Hunts. Is Minute Tapioca just like instant pudding mix?

I absolutely love it but have not had it for years. Mom always made it as a special treat, it makes me think of her.

It is so easy to make from scratch...I wish that everyone would try it at least once. All puddings are easy. My only suggestion is that you use a good vanilla, not the imitation stuff. It really makes a difference, I think.

Fluffy Tapioca
1 egg, separated
6Tbsp. sugar, divided
3Tbsp. MINUTE Tapioca
2cups 2% reduced fat milk
1tsp. vanilla
Make It
BEAT egg white in small bowl with electric mixer on high speed until foamy. Gradually add 3 Tbsp. sugar, beating until soft peaks form.

MIX tapioca, remaining sugar, milk and egg yolk in medium saucepan. Let stand 5 minutes.

COOK on medium heat, stirring constantly, until mixture comes to full boil. Remove from heat. Quickly stir egg white mixture into hot tapioca in saucepan until well blended. Stir in vanilla. Cool 20 minutes; stir. Serve warm or chilled. For creamier pudding, place plastic wrap on surface of pudding while cooling. Stir before serving. Store leftover pudding in refrigerator.

I loved the tapioca pudding that my mother made. I don't eat sweets these days though.

Don't let the name "Minute" fool you. I just made some tapioca and stood over the stove stirring it for about 30 minutes. It said to cook, stirring constantly, until it comes to a full boil (s boil that doesn't stop bubbling when stirred).

I made it with coconut milk.

Minute Tapioca reminded me of cold cream of wheat cereal with a lot of sugar - UUGH!

The dairy case puddings are also horrid.

As another poster said, making real pudding is easy and quick - also cheaper.

Cream of Wheat is wonderful also Glenda! I bought the instant for me a year or so ago? oh it was good! I need to buy it again soon. DH wouldn't touch it with a 10 foot, no make that 30 foot pole!

Homemade Minute Tapioca is so much better tasting than the cups in the dairy case. I probably has more nutritional ingredients too.

I had lots of homemade and dairy case tapioca and pudding last week because I was on a soft food diet because of oral surgery. That premade stuff isn't very good.
