Ran into friend and we rode over to Yogurt Twist and I had dark chocolate fat free yogurt in a cup.

Shopping today for groceries. I had some of my cornbread in a bowl with milk on it. After that I wanted some pop corn so I popped some in my popper in the microwave.I have the Presto Power Pop. It tastes really good.

Glenda, I need to get more spinach next grocery trip. I have a new recipe for creamed spinach I want to try (Martha Stewart). It has cream cheese in it. Harry would just love that dark chocolate yogurt--even fat-free!

Here's my creamed spinach: used to call it "green stuff" when gs was younger until he told me he knew it was spinach and loved it :o)

Creamed spinach
2 packages frozen spinach, (10 oz each)
6 ounces cream cheese, softened ^^I use fat free
1/2 cup butter, melted, divided
1 cup seasoned bread crumbs
Dash of nutmeg: optional
PREPARATION:
Thaw spinach and press or squeeze to remove excess water. Grease a casserole dish and set aside. In a large mixing bowl, combine the spinach, cream cheese, and 1/4 cup of melted butter and nutmeg.
Spoon into casserole dish.

Toss remaining butter with breadcrumbs and add to top of casserole
Bake at 350 degrees for 25 minutes.
Serves 4.

Sue, I was just looking at the microwave corn poppers the other day. Glad to hear it makes good popcorn. You use just regular popping corn, right? Then add your own seasoning???

Patti, yes. I have not had it very long and have used it twice. I used Orville R. popcorn and only 1 Tablespoon oil. It says you don't have to use any. I just seasoned mine after it was popped with melted real butter. I think I could eat the whole thing! My microwave only takes 3 min. to pop. You do not use the popcorn setting.

I've been busy cooking for tomorrow night. One of my friends is having a Ladies Movie Night. We wanted to see Sessions before Oscar night. I'm doing the main course, someone else is doing the salad two people are bringing appetizers and the hosts are supplying wine and dessert. I'm making beef stroganoff and spaetzles. Tonight I will probably have another bowl of chicken soup. Maybe I'll put some spaetzles in it. I sure did make enough! DH had a luncheon to go to today so I'm sure if anything he'll just have a salad.

I had a cup of great northern beans and tuna salad.

I like the sound of that wild rice medley. I've come to the conclusion that I could drop in at most of the posters homes for a meal and not be disappointed.

We had toasted cheese sandwiches. Mine was good 'ol American cheese. The sweetie had his much loved hot pepper cheese on his. Made a green salad to go with. Still have a couple pieces of fudge pie for later...maybe.

Went to father-in- law's for dinner (85). He made fried pork cutlets, french fries and salad. We smell like grease! But it was fun time with brother in law and sisterinlaw and their 2 little granddaughters who are visiting for the week.

I had a TJ's frozen Shepherds Pie and it was awful.

That sounds good, Glenda. Martha's recipe has cream cheese, onion, garlic, nutmeg, milk and 3-4 bunches of fresh spinach. I would cut way back on the onion, though.

Sue, I'm glad to hear your review of that popcorn popper. My grandfather used to have one of those square baskets with a long handle, fill it with popcon and take it to the basement and stick it in the coal furnace. When it was done, he put it in a large brown paper grocery bag, salt it and pour melted butter over it. Close the lid and shake, shake, shake. Man, was that a treat!

Gazania, grilled cheese or breakfast are my go to meals when noting sounds good. It always turns out to be just what we wanted. We finished off the banana cream pie tonight. Finally!!

Dedtired, sorry to hear the shepherd's pie wasn't good--how in the world could they screw that up? I've heard so many great things about TJ's--but we don't have one close. Supposed to be a new one in Gainesville soon, so we'll probably visit when we go to G-ville for Harry's doctor's appointment when it opens.

We had grilled chicken salad with french fries and olives. I cut the boneless, skinless ck into small cubes then cooked them til very golden brown in a skillet sprayed with spray butter and drizzled with good dose of Zesty Italian dressing.

Baked frozen french fries in the toaster oven. Chopped up half a head of lettuce. Forgot to get a chuck of cheese or pkg. of shredded cheese so I pulled apart mozzarella cheese sticks and melted them for about 10 seconds in the microwave and that was the cheese on top. We always used ranch dressing.

Dessert was yogurt with a handful of Kashi granola in it.

patti, i use frozen grd meat all the time...i have a fairly heavy pot and pop the meat in, put on low flame, and cover...in about 20 minures i use a wire wisk to chop it up and continue cooking...if necessary drain the fat (mine is lean so don't have to) then add your chili makings....just might do that tomorrow with the expected snow!
